**** COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR DESIGN (CEED)CEED is a qualifying examination for postgraduate programmes in design like MDes in the IIT's. IIT Bombay is the organising institute for CEED 2011. The cost of the application form is Rs. 950.
Eligibility: (i) Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Architecture/Design (ii) Professional Diploma of NID/ Professional Diploma of CEPT (iii) BFA (iv) GD Art & 1 year professional experience (v) Master's degree in Arts/Science/ Computer Applications.
Test pattern and selection: CEED is a paper-based test of 3 hours duration. The objective of CEED is to assess the candidate’s aptitude for design, involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, and communication skills. CEED results will be mailed only to those who qualify. Students have to apply to respective IIT's, IISc for admission along with CEED score.
**** NIFT ENTRANCE EXAMNIFT entrance exam is conducted in February across 30 test centres in India. NIFT has more than 2000 seats in various design & fashion-centric courses. Application form costs Rs. 1,000.
Eligibility: Completed 10+2 from any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.

Test pattern and selection: For Bachelor's Degree Programmes in Design the admission test generally consists of GAT (General Ability Test) - 40%, CAT (Creative Ability Test) - 40%, Situation Test - 20%. Negative marking for objective questions is 0.25 marks per question. The admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the institute take place on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in the written entrance test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

NIFT has nothing to do with CAT or GAT. Those are the exams for MBA. NIFT is for admission in fashion courses.
The eligibilitiy is just marks of your 10th and intermediate. The main point is the candidate must have qualified both from a recognised board and must be having PCM as the compulsory subject.
The exam has an age limit to be 23 and there is 5 years relaxation for category reserved candidates.

I can't tell you the exact dates as it's not been announced officially yet but yes start date of NIFT 2020 online application is fourth week of October 2019 , so you will be able to fill the application form once it is released. Last date to fill NIFT application form 2020 will be fourth week of December 2019, so you need to make sure that you fill the form before the last date while National Institute of Fashion Technology will conduct NIFT entrance exam in third week of January 2020 in pen and paper based mode. NIFT entrance exam is a gateway for getting admission in bachelor’s courses in Design (B. Des.) and Fashion Technology (B.F. Tech.). Yes, you can get NIFT, Mumbai even if you gave your Entrance Exam in different centre. The centre of your entrance exam is no mode for the college you are given admission in. So don't worry. You will be getting the college according to your marks and rank.

As of now NIFT exam is scheduled to be held on 20th of January and application form for the same will be available online from 22 October. Last date for application is 28 December.
Exam fees for general category is 1500 and sc St is 750.
