Question: What is NIFT Campus Placement (NCP)?

Answer: It is an annual activity conducted for facilitating the placement of its regular students.


Question: How do I participate in the NCP?

Answer: You need to register on jobseeker link available on Campus Management System (CMS)  software, i.e., for participating in the campus placements of NIFT.


Question: What are the eligibility criteria?

Answer: He/she should be a bona fide NIFT student undergoing a regular programme. He/she should also been successfully promoted to the last semester of the programme. Student(s), who are undergoing any investigations by police or involved in any disciplinary proceeding case, are ineligible to participate in NIFT Campus Placement.


Question: How do I come to know about more placement details?

Answer: All the updates are posted on NIFT website, i.e., as well as on


Question: How are companies selected for participating in the campus placement?

Answer: A selection committee considers various factors while picking a company. The criteria comprises relevance of the firm in terms of product groups, skill sets, functions, type of entity, etc. A combination of factors ensures diversity of companies to meet the requirements of different programmes.


Question: Who can participate in the campus placement?

Answer: NIFT students pursuing the two year postgraduate programme or four year undergraduate programme offered at any of the NIFT campuses can participate in the NCP, provided he/she meets the eligibility criteria and has registered on or before the last date of registration.


Question: Can a student participate in any of the campuses for NIFT Campus


Answer: Yes, one can register for any number of campuses before the last date.


Question: Can I register for all NIFT campuses?

Answer: Once you start applying to companies via CMS, you are automatically registered for that company on that day on a particular campus.


Question: Do I need to register for participating in NIFT placement?

Answer: Yes, students are required to register first. They can apply against all the vacancies posted on the CMS that are open. Participating companies can access and shortlist their profiles, and can inform at which campuses they would like to meet them.


Question: What is the registration procedure?

Answer: You are required to login to CMS using login ID. Then, you should register on job seeker form, which is available in your login.


Question: I am appearing for final semester exam this year. Is the declaration of results necessary for participating in the campus placement?

Answer: No, there is no such restriction. You should have been successfully promoted to the last semester (eighth semester) in case of UG programme and fourth semester in case of PG programme.


Question: Can a student participate in NCP via video conferencing?

Answer: Yes, one can virtually participate in the placement process. Student’s request is placed before the recruiting company. Separate arrangements can be facilitated by NIFT campus if company accepts the request.


Question: Once I have registered for any company, can I change the choice later?

Answer: You can register for any campus where placement is conducted. Once registered for a vacancy, you can modify it till the last date of registration.


Question: Will these hub campuses provide accommodation and food to students?

Answer: No, the students have to arrange for food and accommodation themselves.


Question: Will the campuses take care of safety of girls?

Answer: All campuses of NIFT have adequate security for taking care of all its students.


Question: Can a student visit other campuses after the commencement of placement?

Answer: Yes, one can.


Question: Are placement interviews done on campus?

Answer: Yes. Most of the globally renowned companies come to NIFT for selecting students. About 90 per cent of the companies conduct interviews on campus.


Question: Is there any connection between internships/GP’s and final placements?

Answer: Internships can lead to placement in the same company, provided they offer a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) through their CMS login, and the same is accepted by the student. If accepted, then the student won’t be allowed to sit in placement further.


Question: Which companies visit NIFT campuses for recruitment? How will I get to know about details of participating companies?

Answer: A lot of companies visit NIFT every year, and they register on CMS. You can visit your student login in which the names of companies will be displayed automatically that are offering vacancies against a particular course.


Question: Is the placement guaranteed?

Answer: Placement is related to performance of the student during selection interview. NIFT does not guarantee placements.


Question: Are there any overseas job opportunities for the graduates? Which are the frequent locations?

Answer: Yes, some of the participating companies recruit for locations outside India. Frequent locations include Middle East, Bangladesh, etc.


Question: Is it mandatory to participate in the NIFT Campus Placement?

Answer: No, it is not compulsory. It depends on the students only. They may mention their choice in CMS login.


Question: Under what circumstances one does not participate in the NCP?

Answer: Those,who have planned for higher studies or want to start their own business, generally do not participate in the campus placement. They are required to update their choice in CMS login.


Question: Does this affect the placement rate?

Answer: Yes, it does. Therefore, it is mandatory for the students to update their choice in CMS login who intend to pursue higher studies or entrepreneurship.


Question: Does NIFT assist a student in his/her higher studies?

Answer: NIFT resource centre offers literature on several options for study abroad. Faculty mentors also offer guidance if any student approaches them.


Question: Does the institute assist a student with entrepreneurial aspiration?

Answer: Any student can always approach his/her RIC at centre for guidance.


Question: Can I look for a job on my own?

Answer: Yes you can, but it is better that you participate in the campus placement first. Obtaining the first job on your own may be a little tough.


Question: What if I have been offered a job ahead of placement, i.e. Pre-Placement Offer (PPO)?

Answer: You can accept or reject the offer. You need to inform your mentor and centre coordinator about your decision, as well as update your records on CMS.


Question: What is the advantage if a student accepts the offer? What is the best practice?

Answer: Pre-Placement offer (PPO) insulates you from the campus competition for jobs. It is also a recognition of the good work done during graduation project. Students, who are given PPO, generally accept it.


Question: Is there any advantage if I reject the offer?

Answer: There is no real advantage in rejecting the offer except that you can participate in the campus and search for a job.


Question: What if I do not a get a job offer through NIFT Campus Placement?

Answer: Placements are related to performance. You may contact RICs/CCs/mentors to see if there are any existing opportunities.


Question: Can I take the earlier PPO offer?

Answer: Yes, you may, provided it is still open and the company is keen in extending it to you.


Question: When do I have to join a company for job?

Answer: You can join the company after completion of your course related formalities, viz. convocation, graduation show, etc. You should be able to join the company in the first week of June. However, this decision is also dependent on the joining date given by the company.
