Experience a new facade of campus life at NIFT Bengaluru!
Careers360: Please describe your life at NIFT in few sentences. What do you like the most?
Radhika Gupta: When you come to NIFT, you join with a passion for design, and that’s the best thing about our college. Everyone is very dedicated to his/her work, and the environment is a great stimuli for your creativity and desire to learn.
Careers360: How do you divide your weekly time between your studies and other activities?
Radhika Gupta: To be honest, I really don’t do that. Our college time is very hectic with back to back classes. So most of the days, I end up taking my work to home. On weekends, however, I try to balance and don’t take much pressure.
Careers360: How do you get to know about the latest happenings in the institute? Is there any in-house magazine or something else for that?
Radhika Gupta: NIFT Bangalore is a small campus, and student population is quite less here. So, WhatsApp groups and word of mouth are the ways by which we communicate with others. Apart from that, we also have notice boards in the campus that make communication easier.
Careers360: Which are the various clubs and societies there? Are you part of any? Do you think they are beneficial for the students?
Radhika Gupta: We have Sports, Literary, Environment and Cultural Clubs. I am usually more involved in the cultural club. It’s definitely a good break from serious study environment and monotony.
Careers360: Are there any regular events that take place in your campus? How is the participation of students on such occasions?
Radhika Gupta: We are always up and ready for almost any event. From Swachh Bharat drives to online payment campaigns, we’ve done it all. We are dedicated in becoming a helping hand for the betterment of society. We also make sure that all the activities are carried out smoothly in our college.
Careers360: What are the best hangout spots at NIFT Bengaluru? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby the campus?
Radhika Gupta: NIFT Bengaluru is located in the heart of HSR (Hosur-Sarjapur Road) Layout. In the last three years, a whole society has been built around the campus. It’s almost the most happening spot in our area. There are innumerable restaurants and cafes around where students hang out.
Careers360: What is your opinion about the infrastructure of the institution? How are faculty members, laboratories, mess, and everything else?
Radhika Gupta: NIFT Bengaluru has a well-developed infrastructure. There are advanced labs and knowledgeable assistants apart from dedicated faculty members as well. Completely devoted to teaching, our professors keep on trying their best to push us to our limits.
Of course every college student in the world complains about mess food, and I’m no different, but these small things teach us to adjust when we leave the comfort of our home.
Careers360: How do you like to spend your leisure time? What are the most prominent activities in your campus?
Radhika Gupta: We’ve got a basketball court, a huge amphitheater, a badminton court, and the entire campus is available for everyone to chill. So on a usual day after all my classes, I’m either at the amphitheater with my friends or just around the campus catching up with everyone.
Careers360: What else fun-thing makes your campus unique and interesting?
Radhika Gupta: It’s honestly just the environment and students here that make NIFT Bengaluru special. I’m sure that there are many colleges that are better than ours, and have more facilities, but still the kind of enthusiasm and passion that NIFTians have is outstanding. The positive and lively spirit of our campus is honestly the most unique thing that we have.
Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?
Radhika Gupta: Not as such, but we have a few unofficial NIFT facebook pages. Other than that, everyone expresses their views and opinions off the internet and just on the campus.
Careers360: Are their any ramp shows, etc. that are managed and conducted by the students?
Radhika Gupta: We have an annual graduation show for seniors. Since we’re a fashion college, there are many students, who participate in main college fests and fashion shows.
