NID DAT Eligibility Criteria 2023
The NID design aptitude test (DAT) is conducted to offer admission to qualified candidates in B.Des and M.Des programmes at NID campuses. NID DAT is held in two stages - Prelims and Mains exam. NID also offered Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) which was a UG-level program offered at NID Andhra Pradesh, NID Madhya Pradesh, NID Haryana, and NID Assam.
Aspirants must note that it is mandatory to meet the stipulated eligibility criteria of NID DAT 2023, as candidates who fail to fulfill the key criteria will not be allowed to appear in the entrance exam. Before applying for NID 2023, candidates must ensure that they have fulfilled the NID eligibility criteria. 8 | The three-year full-time Diploma course (post-class 10) is approved by the AICTE and is offered by the Board of Technical Education of any state in India or Union Territories as mentioned on http://www.aicte-india.org/statisticbote.php. |
9 | Candidates who took the 10+2 final examination or its equivalent from foreign countries/overseas or a board that is not mentioned above are required to take a certificate from the AIU to confirm that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the 10+2 examination conducted in India. NID Eligibility for PG Admissions 2023
Candidates must possess any one of the below-mentioned minimum educational qualifications in order to fulfill the eligibility criteria for MDes programs offered at different NID campuses:
Bachelor’s degree of minimum four-year duration in any discipline from a recognized university or college. However, candidates must (have passed/ have appeared for/ be appearing for) the bachelor's degree exams before July/ August 2023.
OR
Bachelor’s degree of minimum three-year duration in any discipline from a recognized university or college. (Candidates must have passed the 3-year Bachelor's degree examinations by 2021. Those applications were in the final academic year 2021-2023 can also apply).
OR
Full-time Diploma of minimum four-year duration in Design/ Fine Arts/ Applied Arts/ Architecture passed from a recognized university or college after clearing Class 12. However, candidates must (have passed/ have appeared for/ be appearing for) the diploma exams before July/ August 2023.

NID admission 2023 is based on the national-level entrance test known as the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), which is conducted in 2 stages – Prelims and Mains. NID offers a Bachelor of Design program across eight courses. To take admission in any of the courses, candidates have to be eligible and qualify for NID DAT 2023.

When will the NID DAT prelims result 2023 to be out?
The prelims result of NID DAT 2023 for M.Des admission has been declared on February 28, 2023, and for B.Des admission, the prelims result has been announced on March 16, 2023.
How will the NID DAT 2023 studio test be conducted and what will be the test pattern?
The studio test will be conducted in offline mode. As far as the test pattern is concerned, there is no official test pattern published by the National Institute of Design. Instead, the institute may ask questions covering a wide range of topics aimed at testing the candidate's creative abilities.
Who can appear in NID DAT Mains 2023 Studio Test?
Candidates who qualify for DAT Prelims are eligible to appear in DAT Mains. Note, DAT Mains for B.Des includes a studio test, whereas DAT Mains for M.Des courses includes a studio test and an online interview.
