Earlier, the authority declared the NID DAT 2023 result for the M.Des prelims exam on February 28, 2023, at admissions.nid.edu. Candidates rechecked their MDes DAT prelims from February 28 to March 2, 2023. NID DAT 2023 prelims exam was held on January 8, 2023. NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is conducted for BDes and MDes admission at NID campuses.

NID DAT 2023 Merit List

The examination cell will release the final merit list based on the performance of candidates in all stages of the exam. The authority will prepare the merit list as per the categories. There will be a separate merit list for overseas candidates.

If any candidates have the same rank, the following tie-breaking policy will be followed.

NID DAT 2023 Result - Final Tie-breaking criteria

• A higher rank is assigned to the candidates who scored higher marks in the DAT mains exam

• If the tie remains persist, a higher rank will be given to the candidate who will score more marks in Stage - I Design Aptitude Test Part

• If the tie remains still, a higher rank will be allotted to the candidate who scores more marks in Stage - I Design Aptitude Test Part B

• If the tie does not break, then a higher rank will be awarded to the candidates who score more marks in Stage - I Design Aptitude Test Part A

• If the tie still remains, a higher rank will be credited to the candidates who got more marks in the question of the DAT mains exam which carries maximum marks

Weightage is given to Prelims and Mains in NID DAT Exam

Submission of Invalid Category Certificates

As per the 2023-24 Admission Manual, candidates who do not submit valid OBC-NCL certificates, his/her application have been converted to General Category. Henceforth, the candidate will be treated as a General Category candidate for further admission process. No further communication will be entertained in this regard.

NID DAT Prelims Result 2023 - Tie-breaking policy

In case two or more candidates secured the same total marks in the prelims exam, then the following tie-breaking policy will be applied for awarding rank.

• A higher rank will be awarded to the candidates securing higher marks in Part B of the DAT prelims exam.
• If the tie remains persist, a higher rank will be given to the candidates who obtained more marks in Part A of the DAT prelims exam.
• If this still does not break the tie, then both candidates will be awarded the same rank.

Steps to submit the request for NID DAT 2023 prelims result re-evaluation

• Students can submit the request for re-evaluating the answer booklet of the NID DAT B.Des prelims exam in online mode on the official admisions.nid.edu. The rechecking of the result will be confined to
  • Whether all the answers have been checked and marks are given.
  • Whether there has been an error in the totaling of marks for each question in Part II of the subjective answer booklet and transferring the marks correctly onto the first cover page of the answer booklet.
• No other re-evaluation of the answer script or other work done by the candidate as a part of the examination will be carried out.
• No candidate, person, or organization shall be given the liberty to claim re-evaluation or disclosure, or inspection of the answer booklet or copies of it and other documents as these are treated as most confidential by the Admission Committee.
• If any error is found in rechecking the answer booklet then the marks will be revised accordingly.
• Students shall be communicated on their registered email id regarding the revision of marks if any.
• The institute will not be responsible and entertain any claim, in case of any loss or damage or any inconvenience caused to the candidate consequent to the revision of marks. The revised result after the recheck shall be final.
• Students will have to pay an amount of Rs 2000 as rechecking fee. The amount can be paid online only via credit card/debit card.
• The institute will not accept any requests submitted without a scanned copy of the admit card duly signed by the invigilator with the seal of the test centre.
