NIFT PG 2020 - National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) released the application form of NIFT 2020 for M.Des programme on October 23. The end date to fill NIFT PG 2020 application form is December 31. Candidates can fill the application form of NIFT M.Des 2020 by paying the late fee till January 4. NIFT M.Des 2020 will be conducted on January 19. NIFT PG is conducted to offer admission to master of design programme, master of fashion management programme and master of fashion technology. Candidates can download NIFT admit card in online mode from January 10, 2020. Candidates can check NIFT PG result in fourth week of March 2020. The authorities will declare NIFT M.Des, M.F.M, M.F.Tech final result in third week of May 2020. The qualified candidates in the NIFT exam will have to participate in the next round of selection, which comprises group discussion and interview and will be held in April/May. After group discussion and interview, candidates have to register for NIFT PG 2020 counselling first round fourth week of May to first week of June 2020. NIFT PG Eligibility Criteria 2020

Before filling the application form, candidates should know NIFT PG 2020 eligibility criteria to know if they are eligible or not. The eligibility criteria mention the qualifying degree and age criteria.

  • Undergraduate degree in any discipline from any university or institute which is recognised by the Indian government

  • Undergraduate diploma of at least three years from National Institute of Design or NIFT

  • Candidates who are in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to appear for the entrance exam of NIFT PG 2020.


There is no age limit for candidates who wish to appear in NIFT PG 2020.

Master of Fashion Management

(M.F.M.)

M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)

  • B.F.Tech. from NIFT

  • B.E, B.Tech. from any University or Institute that is recognized by law in India.

  • Candidates who are in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to appear for the entrance exam of NIFT PG 2020

NIFT PG Application Form 2020

The application form for NIFT PG 2020 released on October 23 and the last date for filling will be December 31, 2019. Candidates can fill the application form by paying the late fee till January 4. Candidates who belong to General and OBC categories will have to pay Rs.2000 as an application fee while aspirants who fall under reserved category will have to pay Rs. 1000. Candidates have to follow the given below steps for filling NIFT PG application form:

Step 2 - Candidates have to create login

Step 3 - Re-login to fill the application form of NIFT PG 2020

Step 4 - Fill all the necessary information

Step 5 - Upload the scanned image and signature

Step 6 - Pay the fee for the application form

Step 7 - Download NIFT PG 2020 application form and take a printout of the same

Candidates can pay the fee through any one of the following modes:

  • Debit Card

  • Credit card

  • Demand Draft

The Demand Draft should be issued in favour of “NIFT HO”, payable at New Delhi. Applicants will have to fill the details of the Demand Draft in the online application form.

Edit NIFT PG 2020 Application Form

Candidates will get the option to make changes in the application form of NIFT PG 2020 from January 1 to January 4, 2020. Candidates can make changes in the section of personal information within the given deadline. Candidates will not be allowed to make any changes in the exam centres of NIFT PG 2020.

NIFT PG Syllabus 2020

NIFT PG Admit Card 2020

Those who will fill the application form, they can download NIFT PG 2020 from January 10. They can download the admit card in online mode. Candidates must note that the authorities will not send the admit card by post.

How to download NIFT PG 2020 Admit Card?

Step 1- Visit the official website (nift.ac.in)

Step 2 - Click on the admit card link

Step 3 - Enter any two of the following credentials - registered email ID, date of birth and six-digit application number of NIFT.

NIFT PG Answer Key 2020

NIFT PG 2020 answer key will enable candidates to compare their responses in the entrance test and calculate their probable marks. The answer key of NIFT PG, if released by the official authorities, will be updated in this article.

NIFT PG Result 2020

The institute will declare NIFT PG 2020 final result in third week of May. Candidates can check NIFT PG 2020 result for M.Des in fourth week of March and master in fashion technology will be announced in first week of March 2020. They can have access to the result in online mode by entering their roll number and date of birth. Candidates who will qualify the entrance exam, they will be called for the next round of selection which includes group discussion and interview.

NIFT PG Selection Process 2020

The selection process of NIFT PG 2020 consists of group discussion and personal interview.

NIFT PG Group Discussion - The group discussion will be 15 to 20 minutes wherein candidates will have to discuss a case study. The parameters on which candidates are evaluated in the group discussion are:

NIFT PG Counselling 2020

The qualified candidates in the entrance exam, group discussion and personal interview will be eligible to participate in NIFT PG 2020 counselling. They will have to choose and lock their choices. During NIFT PG 2020 counselling, candidates will have to carry the requisite documents, along with the photocopies to get them verified. Candidates can go through below to know the list of documents that they have to carry:

  • Original certificates of qualifying examination i.e. 12th class/degree (marks sheet and certificate)

  • If the candidates are in the final year, they will have to provide final semester/ final year (as applicable) and will have to bring the original mark sheet of all the previous semester/years.

  • Original certificate and Mark Sheet of the qualifying degree exam.

  • System generated letter/e-mail received by the candidate

  • 2 passport size photograph and 4 Stamp Size

  • Original and photocopy of Secondary School Mark Sheet & Certificate as proof of date of birth.

  • Candidates who belong to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe other backward class – non-creamy, persons with disability will have to provide the necessary certificate. For the state domicile seats, the status will be determined by the address of the college or school from which the student last attended.

  • Candidates have to provide a medical fitness signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner.

  • Copy of 1st, 2nd & 3rd-year graduation mark sheet/ self-attested copy of final year appearing certificate.

  • If the candidates’ results are awaited, they will have to provide an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/. In this affidavit, candidates will have to mention that they are seeking provisional admission as the result of the qualifying exam was not announced.

  • Undertaking for the candidate looking for provisional admission.

  • Undertaking from the students, as per provisions of anti-ragging

  • Undertaking about eligibility, fee and refund

  • Form for withdrawal of admission

  • Authorization letter from the candidate who is not in a position to attend in person.

NIFT PG 2020 - Withdrawal of Admission

Candidates who take the admission once and then they withdraw, they will not be eligible for the subsequent rounds of counselling.

  • If candidates wish to get the fee refunded prior to the beginning of the academic session, in such a case, they have to request the director of the Campus where candidates will participate in the counselling of NIFT PG.

  • On commencement of the academic session, candidates will have to request the director of the campus that has been allotted to them.

  • Candidates will have to surrender the original admission receipt which will be given to them at the time of counseling/admission while they will be applying for withdrawal of admission. In case of no original admission receipt, request for withdrawal of admission would not be entertained.

how do I have to study for NIFT entrance exam..in 1 month??

Hello dear aspirant.

For a exam like NIFT one month is a very less time. But if you work hard and smart . You can surely get success. First of all make a proper time table that you will study 14-16hrs daily. Ten after solve at least two previous year papers daily. Join a test series and see how are the results.

In theNIFT entrance exam, you have to write a creative ability test (CAT), General ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test and Personal interview.

For GAT the topics like English comprehension, Quantitative ability, mathematics, General Knowledge and current affairs are asked.


For General Knowledge and current affairs
Questions are asked mainly Fashion related topics, recent achievements in the fashion world like Miss World, Miss Universe etc.
Questions are also asked based on different brands, products and market value. Also, fashion magazines and newspaper reading will definitely help you for GAT G.K section.

Dear Aspirant,

The NIFT entrance exam is a pen and paper test with two papers- Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) and General Aptitude Test (GAT). For B.Des. and M.Des., GAT is conducted for 2 hours and for B.F.Tech., M.F.M., and M.F.Tech., GAT is conducted for 3 hours because of the differences in the weightage. The number of questions also differ from course to course.

CAT evaluates your creativity and deigning aptitude. This is important if you are seeking Bachelors of Design as your course.  Your intuition skills and observation skills should be put into practice to achieve good marks in the same. Colour and illustration skills become important and will also be evaluated in this.

GAT evaluates the academic aptitude like Mathematics (class 10th level), Reasoning, English Language and Comprehension. It also consists of GK, current affairs and the knowledge of the fashion industry.

English consists of spot the error, sentence correction, analogies, syntax, synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, one word substitution, fill in the blanks, spelling errors, grammar and arranging the sentences or passages in the correct order.

Reasoning consists of verbal and non-verbal series, directions, ranking, calendar, sitting arrangement, coding-decoding, cubes and dices, clocks, syllogism, puzzles, blood relations, eligibility criteria, line counting, graph and related things.

GK and Current Affairs section apart from the GK and current affairs, also consists of questions based on fashion. Be aware of TV endorsements and their taglines used for different products in the same, fashion terminology, entertainment events, brands, logos, celebrities, Miss Universe, Miss World and fashion trends both which are in and out. Other than that, be thorough with current affairs consisting of the political, economic and social situation and also with sports, culture and history of India.

Mathematics consists of the pipes and cisterns, work time, simple interest, compound interest, averages, mensuration, set theory,  number system, ratio and proportion, ages, profit and loss, speed time, height and distance,mixtures and allegations, trigonometry, upstream & downstream, permutation and combination and probability.

There are 100 questions for B.Des. paper which are divided as follows:

English Comprehension- 25 questions

Quantitative ability- 20 questions

Communication ability- 25 questions

Analytical ability- 15 marks

GK and current affairs- 15 marks

Hi Akshita,
NIFT entrance exam is for getting admission is the national institute Institute of Fashion Technology. NIFT has almost 16 campuses all over India and is a leader in Fashion technology courses in India.

The NIFT exam has three parts creative Ability Test (CAT), General ability test (GAT) and Situation Test.

Creative ability test is for  3 hours in which your designing skills and your innovative ideas are tested, this exam is done with paper and pencil.

General ability test (GAT)in which the Analytical ability, General knowledge and English comprehension is tested, this exam is for 2 hours So having a good English proficiency and solving Quantitative analytical questions will help you to get good marks in NIFT exam.

After this  test, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for situation test in which creative development, innovative ideas of a product has to be explained and the skills of a candidate will be closely evaluated.
so if you study hard by doing previous year question papers and practising the creative skills exam will be easy for you.
