NIFT 2024: The National Institute of Fashion Technology will conduct the NIFT 2024 entrance exam tentatively in the first week of February 2024, in Computer-Based mode. The NIFT entrance exam 2024 will be conducted for admission to B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, MFM, and MFTech programmes in NIFT campuses. The authority will open the NIFT 2024 application window in the first week of November 2023. Candidates can fill out the registration form for the NIFT entrance exam at nift.ac.in. 

In order to complete the NIFT exam 2024 registration, candidates had to pay an application fee of Rs. 3000 (Rs. 1500 for SC/ ST) in online mode. Candidates are required to meet the stated NIFT 2024 eligibility criteria to appear in the NIFT entrance exam 2024. According to the NIFT 2024 exam pattern, the design entrance test will consist of three parts - The Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), and the Situation Test.

National Institute of Fashion Technology admission is wholly based on the candidate's performance in the NIFT 2024 entrance exam. B.Des and M.Des candidates have to appear in the Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), and Situation Test/ GD/ PI. Both CAT and GAT exams will be conducted on the same day in online mode. 

However, CAT and GAT-qualified candidates are only eligible to appear in the NIFT 2024 situation test. Aspirants seeking admission in B.FTech candidates are required to appear only in the GAT exam. MFM candidates need to clear both GAT and GD/ PI rounds to gain admission across NIFT campuses.

NIFT 2024 counselling will be conducted to fill 5,215 UG and PG design seats for the NIFT-qualified candidates. Students appearing in the NIFT entrance exam need to secure the minimum NIFT Cut off to gain admission at NIFT campuses.  The cutoff is the last merit rank in which candidates are offered design course admission in seventeen NIFT campuses.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology entrance exam commonly known as the NIFT entrance exam is conducted at a national level to shortlist candidates for admission in design programmes namely - Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), and Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech). Candidates who wish to appear for the NIFT entrance exam 2024 should ensure that they fulfill the NIFT 2024 eligibility criteria to apply for the NIFT entrance exam. • Students who will appear in the final year of the qualifying examination can also take NIFT 2024.
• If the result of class 12/ final semester/ final year is still unannounced by the respective university/ board till the NIFT admission procedure, then such a candidate will be given provisional admission subject to these conditions:
• The final result of the qualifying result should be presented before September 2024.
• Affidavit (duly signed) of Rs. 10 on non-judicial stamp paper
• Those students will be considered for provisional admission and will appear for the compartment exam of class 12. It is mandatory to pass the exam under the same board.

The application form for the NIFT entrance exam 2024 will be released in the first week of November 2023, and it will be closed in the last week of December 2023. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to fill out and submit the application form for NIFT 2024 online by providing the required details and documents on the official website -nift.ac.in. 

To complete the application process, students have to pay an application fee of Rs 3000 (Rs 1500 for SC/ ST) in online mode. If you miss the opportunity to fill out the NIFT 2024 application form in a given time period, then apply by paying the late fee of Rs 5000 by the second week of January 2024. Before filling out the application form, candidates need to check the eligibility details carefully. 

How to fill out NIFT Application Form 2024

The steps to fill out the NIFT application form are given below:

• Step 1 - Candidates have to create their login ID
• Step 2- After that, they will have to log in and fill out the application form
• Step 3- Next, candidates have to upload the requisite documents as per the specified specifications
• Step 4- Make the payment - Applicants have to pay the requisite fee online mode using a net banking/ credit/ debit card. The application fee for candidates who belong to general/ OBC (Non-creamy) categories is Rs. 2000 while those who fall under SC/ ST/ PHP categories will have to pay Rs. 1000. 
• Step 5- Submission of application form - Applicants should not forget to keep a printout/photocopy of the NIFT 2024 application form for future reference, along with proof of payment.

Window to update/ edit NIFT Entrance Exam Application Form

The authority provides an opportunity for candidates to correct the information in their application if needed. Candidates, however, can not change the NIFT exam centre later once it was filled.  If the application form is found ineligible for NIFT 2024 admissions after editing it, the application fee already paid will not be refunded and the candidature of an applicant will be cancelled.

The exam pattern of NIFT entrance exam 2024 for the Creative Ability Test namely CAT has not been released by the authorities yet, Candidates are advsied to focus on concept development and design as questions will be designed to test them in these areas. They must be creative and make innovative use of their colour and illustration skills.

Generally three questions are asked for a total of 30 marks and candidates are tested accordingly.

NIFT Entrance Exam M.Des Exam Pattern

NIFT 2024 Situation Test will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates of CAT and GAT for B.Des admissions. This will be held separately for those who have qualified. The situation test is a hands-on test used to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling as well as the innovative ability in a given situation with a given set of materials.

The Exam Pattern of the Situation Test can be summarised as follows:

• Duration: two hours
• Test involves: Design of one three dimensional (3D) model.

Note: Candidates will be provided with all the required design materials which should be checked by them upon receipt.

Some guidelines:

• Candidates will be permitted to bring some items as instructed in the admit card
• They must make optimum usage of the same. Additional materials will not be provided.
• Colour pencils and marker pens are not allowed.
• An Answer Sheet will be provided separately for any writing purposes which has to be signed by the candidates in the exam hall.
• After completion of the test, the model, answer sheet and any left over materials must be left by the candidates on the table.

Evaluation Criteria for the NIFT Situation Test 2024 are as follows:

• Originality of the concept applied.
• Creative use of material and the skills for the same.
• Neatness of the final model.
• The write-up describing the model and concepts used.

NIFT Entrance Exam M.F.Tech Exam Pattern

NIFT B.FTech exam pattern gives candidates all the information about the type of questions, duration of exam, language, sections asked and more. This will aid candidates in better preparation for the exam and planning of the exam day.

NIFT B.FTech Exam Pattern

The admit card for NIFT 2024 written exam will be issued in the second week of January 2024. Candidates will be able to download NIFT 2024 exam admit card on the official website. Candidates must note that the hard copy of the NIFT exam 2024 admit card will not be sent to the student's address/ email.

They have to carry the NIFT entrance exam admit card to the test centre, along with a valid ID proof. No candidate is allowed to enter the examination hall without the NIFT exam admit card documents mentioned above.

What are the steps to download the NIFT exam admit card?

• Step 1 - Candidates have to visit the official site (nift.ac.in)
• Step 2 - Click on the ‘NIFT 2024 admit card’ to download the hall ticket.
• Step 3 - Enter any two of the following credentials - registered email ID, Date of Birth, and six-digit application number of NIFT 2024.
• Step 4 - Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
• Step 5 - NIFT exam 2024 admit card will appear on the screen
• Step 6 - Click on the ‘Download’ button
• Step 7 - Take a printout of the NIFT exam admit card and keep it for future reference

For the NIFT studio test/ personal interview for Artisan and Children of Artisan, the admit card will be sent to the registered mail id.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology will release the NIFT exam 2024 answer key in the last week of February 2024, in online mode. To download the answer key, candidates have to enter valid login credentials (Email ID and Password)

With the help of the NIFT answer key, candidates can able to analyze their performance in exams and calculate their probable score before the announcement of the result. If candidates find any discrepancy in the answer key, they can raise objections by paying Rs 500 per objection till the stipulated time.

The authority will announce the NIFT 2024 result for the Written exam in the second week of March 2024. Candidates will be able to check their NIFT exam 2024 results online mode on its official website - nift.ac.in. Students can download the NIFT entrance exam 2024 result by providing the required credentials (Email ID and Password) in the login window.

• Step 1 - Candidates must click on the ‘NIFT result of Written Exam-Admission 2024’ button.
• Step 2 - They have to enter their Email ID and Password.
• Step 3 - ‘Submit’ button should be clicked.

• Step 5 - Candidates should take out its printout for future reference.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will release the NIFT 2024 cutoff by June in online mode only. The NIFT exam 2024 cutoff will be available on the official website - nift.ac.in. 

NIFT 2024 exam cut-off is the minimum rank that candidates seeking admission in B.FTech and B.Des have to meet to matriculate in any one of the 18 campuses of NIFT. Through the NIFT entrance exam cutoff candidates will get to know the required rank to secure admission to a specified programme and campus.

What is NIFT Cut off 2024?

NIFT cutoff is the minimum mark determined by the examination cell that students need to score to secure admission to the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The concerned authorities will release the NIFT 2024 cutoff category-wise for each course and campus of NIFT.

The NIFT examination cell will release the NIFT 2024 cut-off after the declaration of the written exam result. The process to check the NIFT 2024 cutoff is as follows.

• Step 3 - NIFT 2024 cutoff will be displayed on the screen in pdf format.

Mode of Counselling: Online

The authority will begin the registration process for NIFT 2024 counselling in online mode in the last week of April 2024. Candidates will be able to register themselves by the first week of May 2024. NIFT exam 2024 counselling will be conducted in five-seat allocation rounds. 

Only qualified candidates can attend the NIFT 2024 counselling as per the schedule. Candidates will be able to download the call letter from the registration portal by providing the required login details.

NIFT 2024 Counselling Procedure

• Candidates will be required to register using the form number, DOB, and password. A NIFT 2024 counselling campus will also be selected from where it’s convenient to participate in the admission procedure. A system-generated SMS and an email will be sent to them after a successful registration.
• Candidates will be called for the NIFT 2024 counselling procedure solely on a merit basis. They have to select a seat in the presence of the nodal officer. 
• After the allocation of the seat, the candidate has to make payment of the full fee at the NIFT campus. The nodal officer will issue him/her an allotment letter/receipt.
