NIFT 2023: Counseling, Round 2 Seat Allotment (Out), Result, Cutoff, Situation Test, Answer Key, Question Papers

NIFT 2023 - The National Institute of Fashion Technology commenced the NIFT counselling seat allotment process in online mode on April 28. The National Institute of Fashion Technology has successfully conducted the NIFT entrance exam 2023 for admission to B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, MFM, and MFTech on February 5, 2023, in Computer-Based mode. The NIFT exam is conducted for admission to NIFT campuses. The authority released the Round 2 NIFT 2023 seat allotment letter for regular UG & PG candidates on June 8. Candidates can pay the fee in online mode by June 13, at 11:59 PM.

Earlier, the authority commenced the registration process for NIFT counselling on April 28. Candidates can register themselves for NIFT admission at niftadmissions.in by May 8, 2023, at 12 PM. The conducting body declared the final NIFT 2023 result on April 28, 2023, on its official website - niftadmissions.in. For NLEA & Artisans/ Children of Artisans, the NIFT entrance exam final result will be announced soon.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology released the NIFT seat matrix on its official website. According to the stats, a total of 5215 seats are available for NIFT admission for UG and PG courses. Earlier, the authority released the NIFT seat allocation rules on its official website. Candidates who cleared the NIFT entrance exam including Situation Test and Personal Interview can register for NIFT 2023 seat allocation at nift.ac.in. It is mandatory to upload the medical certificate attached on the website while registering for seat allotment for UG and PG admission 2023.

The last date for uploading pending documents was on April 23, 2023. Failure to do so the result in the application not being considered for NIFT Admission 2023. The situation test for B.Des was conducted from  March 24 to 27, 2023, in offline mode, at various NIFT campuses. The authority conducted the NIFT 2023 studio test/ personal interview for Artisan and Children of Artisan on March 26, 2023, from 10 am to 12 pm, at various NIFT campuses. The Personal Interview was held from 2 pm, onwards.

The admit card for the NIFT situation test has been sent to the candidate's registered mail id. The authority has released the eligible and ineligible candidates list for the Studio Test/ Personal Interview on its official website. The NIFT 2023 admit card for PG online personal interview has been issued on March 18. Candidates can download it at niftadmissions.in by entering the email id and password.

The Personal Interview for PG is held from March 20, 2023, onwards. Shortlisted candidates can book their slots by March 16. Also, candidates can choose their preferred campus by March 16, 2023, by 5 PM. The allotment of the centres for the NIFT 2023 situation test/ personal interview (PG Programme) will be strictly on a First Come First Served basis. 

The authority declared the NIFT 2023 results for the written exam on March 13. Candidates can check their NIFT exam results by login to their dashboard using their Email ID and Password. Earlier, the authority released the NIFT 2023 answer key for GAT written test on February 22. Candidates can download and raise objections against the provisional answer key of the NIFT exam 2023 by February 24, 2023, at Midnight.

has been given a chance to retake their GAT examination. Details of time/ venue were communicated separately. However, there was no re-exam for the NIFT CAT exam and it was held at the same center as per the original schedule of February 5, 2023.

The NIFT 2023 admit card was issued on January 16. Authority opened the NIFT 2023 correction window on January 9 and it was on January 12, 2023. Candidates edited their submitted NIFT exam 2023 application form during this period. 

The NIFT entrance exam 2023 application form window opened on November 1, 2022, and it was closed on December 31, 2022. Candidates can fill out the registration form for the NIFT entrance exam at nift.ac.in. In order to complete the NIFT exam 2023 registration, candidates had to pay an application fee of Rs. 3000 (Rs. 1500 for SC/ ST) in online mode. National Institute of Fashion Technology admission is wholly based on the candidate's performance in the NIFT 2023 entrance exam. B.Des and M.Des candidates have to appear in the Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), and Situation Test/ GD/ PI. Both CAT and GAT exams were conducted on the same day in online mode.

Students appearing in the NIFT entrance exam need to secure the minimum NIFT Cut off to gain admission at NIFT campuses.  The cutoff is the last merit rank in which candidates are offered design course admission in seventeen NIFT campuses.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology entrance exam commonly known as the NIFT entrance exam is conducted at a national level to shortlist candidates for admission in design programmes namely - Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), and Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech).

• If the result of class 12/ final semester/ final year is still unannounced by the respective university/ board till the NIFT admission procedure, then such a candidate will be given provisional admission subject to these conditions:
• The final result of the qualifying result should be presented before September 30, 2023.
• Affidavit (duly signed) of Rs. 10 on non-judicial stamp paper

The application form for the NIFT entrance exam has been released on November 1, 2022, and it was closed on December 31, 2022. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to fill out and submit the application form for NIFT 2023 online by providing the required details and documents on the official website -nift.ac.in. 

To complete the application process, students have to pay an application fee of Rs 3000 (Rs 1500 for SC/ ST) in online mode. If you miss the opportunity to fill out the NIFT 2023 application form in a given time period, then apply by paying the late fee of Rs 5000 by January 8, 2023. Before filling out the application form, candidates need to check the eligibility details carefully.

The steps to fill out the NIFT application form are given below:

• Step 1 - Candidates have to create their login ID
• Step 2- After that, they will have to log in and fill out the application form
• Step 3- Next, candidates have to upload the requisite documents as per the specified specifications
• Step 4- Make the payment - Applicants have to pay the requisite fee online mode using a net banking/ credit/ debit card. The application fee for candidates who belong to general/ OBC (Non-creamy) categories is Rs. 2000 while those who fall under SC/ ST/ PHP categories will have to pay Rs. 1000. 
• Step 5- Submission of application form - Applicants should not forget to keep a printout/photocopy of the NIFT 2023 application form for future reference, along with proof of payment.

Window to update/ edit NIFT Entrance Exam Application Form

The authority provides an opportunity for candidates to correct the information in their application if needed. Candidates, however, can not change the NIFT exam centre later once it was filled.  If the application form is found ineligible for NIFT 2023 admissions after editing it, the application fee already paid will not be refunded and the candidature of an applicant will be cancelled.

The exam pattern of NIFT entrance exam 2021 for the Creative Ability Test namely CAT is not clearly specified by the authorities. The total number of questions and the marking scheme is not clearly specified by the authorities.

Candidates must focus on concept development and design as questions will be designed to test them in these areas. They must be creative and make innovative use of their colour and illustration skills.

Generally three questions are asked for a total of 30 marks and candidates are tested accordingly.

NIFT Entrance Exam M.Des Exam Pattern

NIFT 2021 Situation Test will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates of CAT and GAT for B.Des admissions. This will be held separately for those who have qualified. The situation test is a hands-on test used to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling as well as the innovative ability in a given situation with a given set of materials.

The Exam Pattern of the Situation Test can be summarised as follows:

• Duration: two hours
• Test involves: Design of one three dimensional (3D) model.

Note: Candidates will be provided with all the required design materials which should be checked by them upon receipt.

Some guidelines:

• Candidates will be permitted to bring some items as instructed in the admit card
• They must make optimum usage of the same. Additional materials will not be provided.
• Colour pencils and marker pens are not allowed.
• An Answer Sheet will be provided separately for any writing purposes which has to be signed by the candidates in the exam hall.
• After completion of the test, the model, answer sheet and any left over materials must be left by the candidates on the table.

Evaluation Criteria for the NIFT Situation Test 2021 are as follows:

• Originality of the concept applied.
• Creative use of material and the skills for the same.
• Neatness of the final model.
• The write-up describing the model and concepts used.

NIFT Entrance Exam M.F.Tech Exam Pattern

NIFT B.FTech exam pattern gives candidates all the information about the type of questions, duration of exam, language, sections asked and more. This will aid candidates in better preparation for the exam and planning of the exam day.

NIFT B.FTech Exam Pattern 2021

For the NIFT studio test/ personal interview for Artisan and Children of Artisan, the admit card has been sent to the registered mail id. Candidates can download the admit card by entering valid login credentials. For PG, the NIFT 2023 situation test/ PI admit card has been issued on March 18.

Earlier, the authority was supposed to issue the admit card for NIFT 2023 on January 15 but it has been issued on January 16. Candidates could download NIFT 2023 admit card on the official website. Candidates must note that the hard copy of the NIFT 2023 admit card will not be sent to the student's address/ email.

They have to carry the NIFT entrance exam admit card to the test centre, along with a valid ID proof. No candidate is allowed to enter the examination hall without the NIFT exam admit card documents mentioned above.

What are the steps to download NIFT admit card 2023?

• Step 1 - Candidates have to visit the official site (nift.ac.in)
• Step 2 - Click on the ‘NIFT 2023 admit card’ to download the hall ticket.
• Step 3 - Enter any two of the following credentials - registered email ID, Date of Birth, and six-digit application number of NIFT 2023.
• Step 4 - Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
• Step 5 - NIFT exam 2023 admit card will appear on the screen
• Step 6 - Click on the ‘Download’ button
• Step 7 - Take a printout of the NIFT exam admit card and keep it for future reference

The National Institute of Fashion Technology released the NIFT 2023 answer key on February 22, 2023, in online mode. To download the answer key, candidates have to enter valid login credentials (Email ID and Password)

With the help of the NIFT answer key, candidates can able to analyze their performance in exams and calculate their probable score before the announcement of the result. If candidates find any discrepancy in the answer key, they can raise objections by paying Rs 500 per objection till February 24, 2023 (Midnight).

Mode of Counselling: Online

The authority began the registration process for NIFT 2023 counselling in online mode on April 28. Candidates can register themselves by May 8, 2023, at 12 PM. NIFT counselling 2023 will be conducted in five-seat allocation rounds. 

Only qualified candidates can attend the NIFT 2023 counselling as per the schedule. Candidates will be able to download the call letter from the registration portal by providing the required login details.

NIFT Counselling Procedure 2023

• Candidates will be required to register using the form number, DOB, and password. A NIFT 2023 counselling campus will also be selected from where it’s convenient to participate in the admission procedure. A system-generated SMS and an email will be sent to them after a successful registration.
• Candidates will be called for the NIFT 2023 counselling procedure solely on a merit basis. They have to select a seat in the presence of the nodal officer. 
• After the allocation of the seat, the candidate has to make payment of the full fee at the NIFT campus. The nodal officer will issue him/her an allotment letter/receipt.
