SMEAT 2023 Exam: Registration (Closed), Eligibility, Admit Card, Syllabus, Pattern, Result, Cutoff

SMEAT 2023: Srishti Manipal Entrance and Aptitude Test, commonly known as SMEAT, is held by Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, and Technology. Around 300 undergraduate design seats in total (200 at the Bangalore campus and 100 at the Pune centre) are filled on a merit basis in SMEAT 2023. Test-takers' awareness and understanding of design are evaluated via SMEAT 2023. Previously this design entrance exam was called SEAT and now it has been renamed SMEAT exam.

The entrance exam, SMEAT is followed by a portfolio review and counselling. At the completion of the course, the students will be awarded a Bachelor in Design (B.Des) by the University of Mysore. The total fee will be Rs. 20 lakhs. As per the SMEAT round 2 schedules, the SMEAT entrance exam 2023 for UG and PG admission will be held on June 4, 2023, and the result will be announced on June 14, 2023. Candidates can check their SMEAT exam results from the dashboard by entering their email id and password.

The conducting body released the SMEAT 2023 application form (Round 3) online on April 13 and it was closed on May 24, 2023. The candidates who meet the eligibility can apply for SMEAT (SEAT) 2023, on the official website - srishtimanipalinstitute.in.

What is SMEAT?

The SMEAT 2023 exam contains various admission rounds. Each round of the SMEAT exam is expected to have different question papers. However, each SEAT/ SMEAT question paper will have the same number of questions, marking scheme (total marks) as well as difficulty level. SMEAT score is valid for admission only for one academic year. SEAT (SMEAT) 2023 admissions will be commenced in December, this year. Candidates who have cleared UCEED and CEED exams are also eligible to apply for SMEAT admissions.

SMEAT eligibility criteria 2023 state that applicants must have passed any one of the below-mentioned exams:

• High School Diploma (USA/Canada)
• NSQF Certification Level IV completed
• State Board Of Technical Education- Diploma
• National or International Boards- CBSE/ISC/IB/AICE/A Level
• State Boards, Junior College, Intermediate, HSSC, PUC, Senior Secondary
• National Institute of open schooling (NIOS), New Delhi- Senior Secondary

SMEAT application form 2023 for Round 2 has been released in online mode on April 13. The last date to fill out and submit the SMEAT 2023 application was closed on May 24, 2023. All the parts of the SEAT 2023 application form - 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 have to be downloaded by the applicants. 

Steps to fill out the application form for SMEAT 2023

Step 1- Download the SMEAT application form 2023.

To get the registration form, applicants will be required to click on the online link. They will have to register online and download the form.

Step 2- Fill out the registration form

Applicants will be required to provide the following personal, educational, and contact details:  

• Applicant’s name
• Father’s name
• Mother’s name
• Address
• Mobile number
• Qualification
• DOB
• Gender
• Test centre preference
• Programme preference
• Photograph
• Signature

Step 3- Pay the application fee

Applicants have to make payment of the non-refundable application fee via demand draft. The application fee for SMEAT 2023 is Rs. 3,000 which has to be paid through DD drawn in favour of Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Bangalore. Candidates should mention their names clearly on the backside of the DD.   

Step 4- Post SEAT/ SMEAT application form 2023

The candidates will be required to accompany the below-mentioned documents with the filled SMEAT registration form 2023:

• Copies of mark sheets/transcripts
• Two recent passport-size coloured photographs
• Copy of birth certificate/ Class X certificate
• Handwritten personal statement in blue ink to be attached separately
• Copy of photo ID issued by the Government of India

Application Fees

Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, the exam conducting body, prescribed the SMEAT exam pattern 2023. test 1 of SMEAT 2023 will be a written test of nearly 2-3 hours. The entrance test will assess the candidate’s skills to enquire, explore and observe the details. They will be evaluated in one or more of the below-mentioned fields:

• Critical Thinking
• Domain Literacy
• Analytical Reasoning
• Contextual Awareness
• Language and Expression
• Observation and Curiosity
• Imagination and Visualization

After successfully completing test 1, candidates will be eligible to appear for test 2 (either only written, or part-written and part-practical). The final exam, test 3, will comprise the portfolio review and a counselling session. This test will be conversational in style.

SMEAT admit card 2023 will be available on the official website for download. The institute will send the admit card for SMEAT 2023 to the registered email address of candidates as well. They must take at least two printouts of the admit card. SMEAT admit card 2023 has to be brought to the exam centre along with a valid photo ID card on the day of the exam.

SMEAT result 2023 for Round 2 will be announced in online mode on June 14, 2023, via Srishti Online Admissions Portal. Candidates can check their SMEAT 2023 results from the dashboard by entering their email id and password. There will be a first list and a waiting list of the candidates.

Steps to check the SMEAT exam results

• Step 1 - Visit the official SMEAT website
• Step 2 - Click on the 'Already registered candidates' link.
• Step 3 - Next, enter the required details such as Email address and Password.
• Step 4 - From the dashboard, find and click on the 'SMEAT 2023: Result - Round 2'.
• Step 5 - Finally, check and download the result of the SMEAT 2023

For Round 3, the result will be out on July 20, 2023.

Mode of Counselling: Offline

Qualified candidates of SMEAT will be called for a portfolio review and SMEAT 2023 counselling session in Bangalore. The counselling procedure will be conversational in style.
