Age limit

• Candidates belonging to the general and general EWS category born on or after July 1,  1993 are eligible to apply for the exam.

• Reserved category candidates such as OBC-NCL, SC, ST should be born on or after July 1, 1990.

• The PwD category candidates should have been born on or after July 1, 1988.

Educational qualifications

• Candidates to have a bachelor's degree of minimum 4 years in any specialisation, after 12th standard from a recognised institute or university.                                                     (Note: Candidates must have appeared for all subjects and backlogs, if any, by June 28, 2025)

• Candidates must have a full time diploma of 4 years duration in design/fine arts/applied arts/architecture, after completing class 12, from any recognised university or institute. (Note: Candidates must have appeared for all subjects and backlogs, if any, by June 28, 2025)

• Applicants must have completed 3 years bachelor degree in any specialisation from a recognised board or university.

• Students who will be appearing in the final year of the bachelors degree exam or full time diploma programme and may have not received the final degree certificate are also eligible. However, the selected candidates should produce their result certificate before the specified date given by the authorities.

• (Note: Candidates must have passed the bachelor degree by August 2024)

National Institute of Design released the NID DAT MDes application form 2025 online on September 3, 2024.
