Candidates who have completed their class 12 were eligible for B.Des and B.F.Tech courses, while the minimum qualification required for M.Des and M.F. Tech courses is graduation.

The candidates had applied online and paid the NIFT 2025 application fee using a debit card or a credit card or through net banking during registration. For SC/ ST/ PWD candidates, the NIFT application fee was Rs.1500. The candidates were notified of a late payment fee as applicable if applying after the deadline.
