IIT Bombay will publish the CEED 2026 notification on its official website - ceed.iitb.ac.in, on October 1, 2025. The notification will have the complete CEED 2026 schedule. IIT Bombay has announced the CEED exam date as January 18, 2026 along with the timings of the CEED entrance exam which is from 9 AM to 12 PM. Candidates have to complete the CEED 2026 registration online from the official website after its release.

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a national-level examination conducted by IIT Bombay and is designed to assess the skills and knowledge of students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies in design at premier institutes in India.

When is CEED Exam 2026?

CEED 2026 exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026 in online mode. IIT Bombay will conduct the CEED exam simultaneously at all the designated exam centres on the same day.

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2026

The authorities will release the CEED eligibility criteria 2026 through the official brochure at its web portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. The CEED 2026 eligibility criteria will verify the candidate's academic background and skills to appear for the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria for CEED 2026 is mentioned below:

  • Candidates must have completed a graduate degree/diploma/postgraduate degree program of a minimum of three years (after 10+2 level)

  • (or) must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2026,

  • (or) must have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2026.

  • There is no age limit to appear for CEED

  • Candidates can appear for CEED any number of times

  • Problem identification: Capability to understand the user and the context, knowledge of properties of materials, and their appropriate use in design.

While the CEED score is important, most of the institutes use full selection process that includes your CEED score(Part A and B), Portfolio and often an interview or studio tests.Your 6 years of experience, strong portfolio and relevant coursera certificates can add significant value during admission in IITDM, Srishti etc which consider the overall profile not just the rank.
