About CEED Exam

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a national-level examination conducted by IIT Bombay and is designed to assess the skills and knowledge of students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies in design at premier institutes in India.

CEED Exam Date 2026

The CEED 2026 dates are yet to be announced by the authorities at their official website- ceed.iitb.ac.in. on a tentative note, IIT Bombay will release the CEED 2026 registration form on October 1, 2025. Also, the CEED 2026 exam will be conducted on January 18. Candidates can refer to the table given below for the tentative CEED dates 2026.

When is CEED Exam 2026?

CEED 2026 exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026 in online mode. IIT Bombay will conduct the CEED exam simultaneously at all the designated exam centres on the same day.

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2026

The authorities will release the CEED eligibility criteria 2026 through the official brochure at its web portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. The CEED 2026 eligibility criteria will verify the candidate's academic background and skills to appear for the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria for CEED 2026 is mentioned below:

• Candidates must have completed a graduate degree/diploma/postgraduate degree program of a minimum of three years (after 10+2 level)

• (or) must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2026,

• (or) must have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2026.

• There is no age limit to appear for CEED

• Candidates can appear for CEED any number of times

CEED Application Form 2026

IIT Bombay will release the CEED 2026 application form on its official website- ceed.iitb.ac.in. It is important for the candidates to check the CEED 2026 eligibility criteria before filling out the application form so as not to face any disqualification. Aspirants are advised to fill and submit the CEED application form 2026 before the last date. The CEED 2026 application form last date will be provided in the official brochure. Follow the steps to fill out the CEED registration form 2026:

• Visit the official website - ceed.iitb.ac.in

• Click on the registration link and get yourself registered by providing the required details

• Click on the submit button

• Go to the CEED 2026 application form link and enter the login credentials

• Fill in required details such as

  • Candidate's name

  • Father’s name

  • Mother’s name

  • Mobile number

  • Email ID

  • Gender

  • Date of birth

  • Communication address

  • Academic details

  • Nationality

• Select the CEED 2026 exam centre

• Upload candidates’ photograph and signature

• Upload the required documents

• Pay the CEED registration fee as per category and click on submit

• Download and take a printout of the CEED 2026 application form for future reference

Note: Applicants have to pay Rs. 500 as a late fee if they are registering after the application closing date.

CEED 2026 Syllabus

The CEED syllabus 2026 will ensure transparency and provide a structured guide-map for the students. • Visualisation and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships

• Practical and scientific knowledge. Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects

• Observation and design sensitivity. Capacity to detect concealed properties in day-to-day life and think critically about them. Attention to detail, classification, analysis, inference, and prediction

• Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social, and cultural connections with design.

• Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.

• Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English

• Creativity. Grasp verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols.

• Art and Design knowledge: Awareness about art/artefact/product, artists/designers, art/design history, and trends.

• Design methods and practices. Knowledge of media, materials, production processes, and ergonomics

CEED Syllabus - Part B

• Drawing Ability to draw products, people, or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.

• Creativity: Capacity to think out of the box and come up with unique as well as diverse solutions.

• Communication: Skills to communicate concepts and ideas clearly with the help of text and visuals

• Problem identification: Capability to understand the user and the context, knowledge of properties of materials, and their appropriate use in design.
