SEED 2026 or the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design, is the exam conducted by the Symbiosis Institute of Design for their BDes programme carrying 8 specializations across 2 disciplines, namely, Communication Design (CD) and Industrial Design (ID). Given the previous pattern incorporated in conducting SEED Exam, we can likely expect a few similarities in Symbiosis SEED 2026. The SEED application form 2026 can open around the middle of August 2025, with the SEED 2026 registration window being open till January 2026.
SEED exam 2026 will be conducted within 2 weeks from the date of closure of the registration period. Prefer between the second week of January 2026. The notification for the SEED 2026 registration will release on the official SID website.

The SEED 2026 eligibility criteria for the entrance exam will be released in the official Prospectus 2026 under the section that covers the aspects of the SEED 2026 entrance exam as held by SID (Symbiosis Institute of Design).
According to the SEED exam eligibility requirements, a candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.)
Or carry an equivalent 10+3 diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% (SC/ST: 45%) aggregate marks obtained in the final examination to be eligible for Symbiosis SEED 2026.
A candidate appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma programme may also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for SEED 2026.
The application for SEED 2026 will be opened on the official website of the institute. Underneath the tab of programmes located on the home page one can locate the sections that elaborate on the “Admission Process” and “How to apply” or they can also be found in the announcements window after scrolling down the home page of the website.

The shortlist for the PRPI list will be announced shortly after a few days of announcing the results of the test. PRPI refers to the Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction round.

The fees for SID is currently at Rs. 467,000 (Academic Fees (Per Annum)) with a refundable Institute Deposit at Rs. 20,000.
The fees for the entrance exam is currently Rs.3250.
The SEED exam syllabus includes sections such as visualisation, observational, perceptual, and reasoning abilities; creative and problem-solving abilities; application of basic knowledge of science & mathematics; and art, craft, culture, design, and environment.
Generally candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). There is no age limit for the SEED exam.
