UPES DAT Exam 2026: Registration (Open), Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Preparation Tips

The authorities released the UPES DAT application form online. The last date for filling the UPES DAT Application form 2026 for phase 2 is March 26. Candidates can fill out the registration for UPESDAT exam 2026 online at upes.ac.in. Filling out the application form includes many steps, such as registration,  personal details, academic details, uploading documents, and payment of the application fee. Candidates need to follow the steps below to fill UPESDAT application form 2026. The steps help them to fill out the form with ease.

UPESDAT 2026 Registration Process

• Step 1 -  Registration - Candidates have visit the official website and click on the link for registration.     
• Step 2 -  Personal Details - A new page will appear where candidates have to enter their personal details, such as first name, last name, level, select the program,  email ID, date of birth, and mobile number.     
• Step 3  - Academic Details - Students must fill in class 10 and 12 details, such as year of passing and percentage in the UPES DAT application form. If they appear for the 12^th exam, they have to mark yes in the specified box.    
• Step 4  - Other Important Details - In this section of the UPESDAT exam form,  they have to mention nationality, country, state, city, and application pathway. Enter the captcha code, checkmark the ‘I have read and understood the eligibility criteria, and click on the submit button.    
• Step 5  - Enter the OTP - Enter the OTP and then candidates will receive their application number on their screen and the user name and password will be sent to their phone.        
• Step 6 - Uploading of documents - Next, upload required documents as per specifications mentioned by the authorities. 
• Step 7 – Payment of UPESDAT Application Fee - After this, click on Proceed to Pay button, take the printout and keep it for future reference.  

The authority prescribed the UPES DAT 2026 eligibility criteria on the official website. The eligibility criteria of UPES DAT 2026 include conditions and requirements that students need to meet to be eligible for admission to the design course offered by UPES Dehradun. The aspirants must meet the prescribed UPES DAT exam eligibility to appear for the design entrance exam. Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria of UPES DAT 2026 including academic qualification and score that candidates need to score to be eligible for UPES DAT 2026.         

UPES DAT Eligibility Criteria for B.Des

• The eligibility criteria specified for the B.Design programme is that the candidate must have passed their 10th and 12th class with 50% as the minimum score in any stream from any recognised board.

UPES DAT Eligibility Criteria for M.Des

The eligibility criteria for the M.Des programme are as follows.

• The candidate must have passed their higher and senior secondary levels with a minimum 50% score in any stream from any recognised board.
• Minimum 50% marks in bachelor’s degree in any stream: 10+2+3 years (B.Des./B.Arch./ B.Tech./ BFA graduates will be preferred)
• Accepted valid CEED/NID/NIFT scores.

Candidates appearing for the UPESDAT 2026 exam need to check the exam pattern beforehand. The UPESDAT for B.Des will be conducted online and the type of questions asked will be objective-type multiple-choice questions. The exam will be for one hour. Students must go through the exam pattern to know the marking scheme and get familiar with the subject and topic-wise weightage, how many questions will be asked, and the section of questions.

The authority shares the UPESDAT 2026 admit card link a few days before the entrance exam to the candidate's registered email. The admit card for UPESDAT 2026 will be issued in online mode - upes.ac.in. Candidates need to download the admit card with the photograph affixed and produce it at the time of the exam. Candidates without the admit card will not be allowed to appear in the exam.

• Login using the login credentials
• Check the email from UPES and open it
• Click on the link to download hall ticket 
• Open the downloaded admit card of UPESDAT 2026 
• Take a printout of the same.

Students who appeared for the entrance exam will be able to check the result of UPES DAT 2026 from their registered email ID. The UPES DAT 2026 results will be declared in online mode only. Candidates have to enter their login credentials to check the UPES DAT results. The result will mention the candidate's score and whether they have qualified for the Design Aptitude Test for UPES admission or not. Steps to Check UPES DAT Result 2026

• Step 1: Visit the registered email account and login using the login credentials. 
• Step 2: Students will be redirected to the inbox page where they need to check for an email  from UPES.
• Step 4: Open on the email received.
• Step 5: View & download the UPES DAT result, take the printout, and keep it for future reference. 

UPES will announce the UPESDAT cutoff 2026 for admissions to B.Des soon after the declaration of the result. Candidates need to secure the minimum cut off marks for admission to B.Des and M.Des courses offered by UPES. Those who secure the minimum cut off will be called for the interview.
