For admission to BITS design courses, aspirants are required to appear and qualify any of the following entrance exams:
NID DAT - National Institute of Design conducts NID DAT for admission to design courses at NID campuses. NID DAT entrance exam is conducted in two stages - Prelims and Mains. Aspirants who will qualify the NID prelims exam are eligible to appear for Mains, which is followed by counselling and seat allotment.
UCEED - The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay conducts Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design once a year. BITS Pilani will allot some seats in their undergraduate programme for admission through UCEED. The BITS Pilani, however will not be part of the Joint Admission Process conducted by IIT Bombay. Aspirants will have to visit BITS design school official website to register for BITS Pilani design courses.
BITSDAT - BITS design admission test or BITSDAT is conducted for BITS Pilani for admission to different courses.
Top Design Entrance Exam
For candidates who do not have a valid score of design entrance tests such as NIFT, UCEED and NID, BITS Pilani will conduct the BITS DAT 2025 entrance exam. BITS DAT 2025 was conducted online for the duration of one hour. BITS DAT paper 2025 was designed most likely to check the design concept aptitude, logical reasoning ability, nonverbal reasoning and English language skills of candidates seeking admission to the B Des (Honours) programme.

The Merit & Means Based Scholarship is a tuition fee waiver of up to 75% and it will be awarded in each year of the 4-year programme.
To be eligible for the Merit & Means scholarship, the student's annual family income (parents'/guardians') must not be more than ₹18,00,000. The merit of the student will be holistically assessed through their BITS Design School application form, including design test scores, academic achievement, co/extra-curricular achievements, and their portfolio interview.
The Academic Merit Scholarship is a tuition fee waiver of up to 75% and it will be awarded in each year of the 4-year design programme.

The BITS Design School will offer a 100% tuition fee waiver to top performers in the NID/IIT entrance examinations who have been identified as outstanding and high-potential students by an esteemed jury. This scholarship will be offered for the duration of the degree programme subject to the “Policy for Renewal and Revocation of Scholarship.”

The BITS DES Admissions Committee will take the final decision on the scholarship and nature of the waiver provided only after proper evaluation of student’s application form and documents provided.
BITS Pilani design school at Mumbai scholarships are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined. If a student qualifies for more than 1 type of scholarship, they will be offered the scholarship with the higher tuition fee waiver, but will not be offered the sum of two or more tuition fee waivers.
Scholarships are reviewed and awarded annually based on the student's academic performance and conduct, attendance, and payment of tuition and residential fees. All scholarships awarded are renewed or revoked as per the BITS Design scholarship policy.
