NIFT Admit Card 2020 - National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will release NIFT 2020 admit card in online mode from January 10 at 2:00 PM onwards. No hard copy of the admit card will be sent to candidates. They have to download NIFT admit card by entering any two of the following credentials - application number, registered email ID and date of birth. The admit card will consists of exam details, such as reporting time, and address of the test centre. Candidates should not forget to carry the hard copy of the admit card along with a valid ID proof to the exam centre. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without the aforementioned documents. Candidates who will submit the application form before the deadline, only they will be able to download the admit card. NIFT entrance exam entrance exam will be conducted on January 19, 2020. What to Carry along with NIFT Admit Card 2020?

Candidates have to carry any one of the following original ID proofs, along with NIFT 2019 admit card:

  • Voter ID card

  • Aadhar card

  • Student ID issued by current school/college

Note: Candidates must know that photocopy or digital copy of the ID proof is not accepted at the NIFT exam centre.

What not to carry to the NIFT Exam Centre 2020?

Test takers are not allowed to carry the following inside the examination hall

  • Water bottle

  • Papers

  • Notes

  • Books

  • Calculator

  • Electronic gadgets

  • Mobile phone

  • Bag

  • Handbag

  • Correction marker/white fluid

Note: There will be no arrangement made for keeping the above-mentioned items safely at the test centre. In case there is any lost item, the test centre will not be accountable for the same. Candidates, therefore, have to make their own arrangement for keeping such items safely.

NIFT Entrance Exam Important Guidelines 2020

  • Candidates must carry the admit card to their examination centre, otherwise, they will not be allowed to enter the exam centre.

  • Candidates should bear in mind that the gate will close 30 minutes prior to the commencement of exam. After the deadline, no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall.

  • Candidates can carry blue or black ballpoint pen, HB pencils, eraser, sharpener and dry colours for Creative Ability Test (CAT)

  • Candidates found using any forbidden material or involved in unfair means will be disqualified from the exam

  • Taking the question booklets and answer sheets out of the exam centre is considered as a punishable offence and can lead to cancellation of candidate's candidature

  • Candidates will not be allowed to leave the centre before completion of the exam

  • The admission offered to them after the test will be provisional subject to meeting the eligibility criteria. On verification before or after the entrance test, if it is discovered that a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility criteria, their candidature shall stand cancelled without any intimation.

Hello dear aspirant.

For a exam like NIFT one month is a very less time. But if you work hard and smart . You can surely get success. First of all make a proper time table that you will study 14-16hrs daily. Ten after solve at least two previous year papers daily. Join a test series and see how are the results.

In theNIFT entrance exam, you have to write a creative ability test (CAT), General ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test and Personal interview.

For GAT the topics like English comprehension, Quantitative ability, mathematics, General Knowledge and current affairs are asked.

For General Knowledge and current affairs
Questions are asked mainly Fashion related topics, recent achievements in the fashion world like Miss World, Miss Universe etc.
Questions are also asked based on different brands, products and market value. Also, fashion magazines and newspaper reading will definitely help you for GAT G.K section.

Dear Aspirant,

The NIFT entrance exam is a pen and paper test with two papers- Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) and General Aptitude Test (GAT). For B.Des. and M.Des., GAT is conducted for 2 hours and for B.F.Tech., M.F.M., and M.F.Tech., GAT is conducted for 3 hours because of the differences in the weightage. The number of questions also differ from course to course.

CAT evaluates your creativity and deigning aptitude. This is important if you are seeking Bachelors of Design as your course.  Your intuition skills and observation skills should be put into practice to achieve good marks in the same. Colour and illustration skills become important and will also be evaluated in this.

GAT evaluates the academic aptitude like Mathematics (class 10th level), Reasoning, English Language and Comprehension. It also consists of GK, current affairs and the knowledge of the fashion industry.

English consists of spot the error, sentence correction, analogies, syntax, synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, one word substitution, fill in the blanks, spelling errors, grammar and arranging the sentences or passages in the correct order.

Reasoning consists of verbal and non-verbal series, directions, ranking, calendar, sitting arrangement, coding-decoding, cubes and dices, clocks, syllogism, puzzles, blood relations, eligibility criteria, line counting, graph and related things.

GK and Current Affairs section apart from the GK and current affairs, also consists of questions based on fashion. Be aware of TV endorsements and their taglines used for different products in the same, fashion terminology, entertainment events, brands, logos, celebrities, Miss Universe, Miss World and fashion trends both which are in and out. Other than that, be thorough with current affairs consisting of the political, economic and social situation and also with sports, culture and history of India.

Mathematics consists of the pipes and cisterns, work time, simple interest, compound interest, averages, mensuration, set theory,  number system, ratio and proportion, ages, profit and loss, speed time, height and distance,mixtures and allegations, trigonometry, upstream & downstream, permutation and combination and probability.

There are 100 questions for B.Des. paper which are divided as follows:

English Comprehension- 25 questions

Quantitative ability- 20 questions

Communication ability- 25 questions

Analytical ability- 15 marks

GK and current affairs- 15 marks

Hi Akshita,
NIFT entrance exam is for getting admission is the national institute Institute of Fashion Technology. NIFT has almost 16 campuses all over India and is a leader in Fashion technology courses in India.

The NIFT exam has three parts creative Ability Test (CAT), General ability test (GAT) and Situation Test.

Creative ability test is for  3 hours in which your designing skills and your innovative ideas are tested, this exam is done with paper and pencil.

General ability test (GAT)in which the Analytical ability, General knowledge and English comprehension is tested, this exam is for 2 hours So having a good English proficiency and solving Quantitative analytical questions will help you to get good marks in NIFT exam.

After this  test, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for situation test in which creative development, innovative ideas of a product has to be explained and the skills of a candidate will be closely evaluated.
so if you study hard by doing previous year question papers and practising the creative skills exam will be easy for you.

NIFT exam pattern consists of three different levels of exam Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test. The institute assesses candidates knowledge, skill and aptitude through this national-level design aptitude exam.

In GAT exam includes Sections like:
English comprehension
Quantitative ability
Communication ability
Analytical ability
General knowledge and current affairs

NIFT Exam Pattern for Situation Test

The shortlisted candidates in CAT and GAT for Bachelor of Design will have to take situation test. It judges test-takers ability to handle the given set of materials along with innovation in a particular situation. Candidates must note that they are not allowed to carry any additional material. Evaluation of the model is done on the basis of space visualization, creativity, uniqueness, finishing, element composition, construction, colour scheme, and a lot more.
