IICD Syllabus 2019 -  Indian Institute of Crafts and Design does not specify any particular IICD 2019 syllabus for the candidates who appear for the entrance exam. However, there are certain parameters on the basis of which the candidates are assessed. Some of the topics on the basis of which the candidates are assessed are listed under IICD syllabus 2019. The topics which form part of syllabus of IICD 2019 include questions on general awareness, perception  as well as creativity test. IICD 2019 Syllabus

IICD Material, Colour & Conceptual Test

Assessment will be on the basis of following parameters: 


  • Observation skills

  • Thinking and expanding of ideas

  • Creating solution based on a plan and strategy.

  • Providing multiple solutions to the given problem with written description

  •  Intelligent use of materials

  • Conceptualization and realization of a three-dimensional form.

General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test

Candidates will be assessed on the following:


  • Visual interpretation

  • General awareness

  • Estimation of sizes and proportion

  • Observation skills

Apart from the written test, candidates will have to face a personal interview. The parameters on which the candidates will be assessed in the personal interview are listed below: 

  • Communication skills 

  • Aptitude to crafts 

  • General awareness about crafts and design

  • Intelligence quotient (IQ)

  • Personal achievements in academics and extracurricular activities

IICD Exam Pattern 2019

The exam pattern of IICD 2019 includes the marking scheme, the mode  in which the exam is conducted, whether subjective or objective questions are asked, duration of the exam. 

Candidates will be offered admission on the basis of their performance in the written exam. The exam was conducted in offline mode. 

The two parts of the entrance test are three hours each.

Candidates who appeared for IICD 2019, they would have to bring certain samples of their portfolio at the time of the interview. The objective is to help the panel understand their capabilities. The portfolio could be anything which the candidate has done on his own such as painting, photography, sketching, embroidery and material.
