UCEED exam pattern 2025 is released at uceed.iitb.ac.in along with the official brochure. The UCEED question paper will include 2 parts - Part A and B. As per exam pattern, the UCEED total marks 2025 will be 200 for part A and 100 for part B. Further, aspirants who wish to know “is there negative marking in uceed” should note that there will be no negative marking for NAT questions. However, partial marks -1 and 0.71 marks will be deducted for MSQ and MCQ respectively. Read the complete article to know more about UCEED exam pattern 2025.
The UCEED pattern for 2025 exam have some changes. The changes are listed in the below table in terms of questions and their marks as per UCEED pattern.

There will be ONE question paper of a total three hours duration.
The question paper will be in English only.
UCEED exam total marks are 300.
UCEED paper pattern 2025 includes two parts - Part-A and Part-B. It is compulsory to attempt questions from both parts.
Note: Utmost care is taken to prepare an error free question paper in UCEED 2025. However, if an error is detected in the question paper, the UCI Committee shall take an appropriate decision after the examination, which shall be final.
The part A of the UCEED entrance exam consists of three sections and is a Computer based test. The UCEED total marks for part A section is 200 and the students will be allotted 2 hours to solve all the questions involved in it.
Numerical Answer Type: These are the first type of questions in which the answer is a number which must be entered using the virtual keyboard available on the computer screen. There will be 14 questions in total in this section with each carrying 4 marks so that the total marks of this section is 56. It must be noted that there is no negative marking for the wrong answer in this section.
Multiple Select Questions: The students will be given options in this question and one or more of them can be correct. There will be 15 questions from this section, and it will carry partial marking as per rules mentioned below:
Full Marks: + 4 If only (all) the correct option(s) is(are) chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Partial Marks: + 3 If all the four options are correct but ONLY three options are chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Partial Marks: + 2 If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Partial Marks: + 1 If two or more options are correct but ONLY one option is chosen, and it is a correct option and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Zero Marks: 0 If NONE of the options is chosen (i.e., the question is unanswered).
Negative Marks: -1 In all other cases
It must be noted that there is negative marking of -1 for these types of questions. For each correct answer the students will get 4 marks and the total mark for this section is 60.
Multiple Choice Questions: The multiple-choice questions will carry for choices out of which the students have to select the most appropriate one. Only one option out of the four given options will be correct which the students need to identify to get full marks. A total of 28 questions carrying 3 marks each will be there in this section resulting in 84 marks. There is a negative marking of -0.71 for each wrong answer.

It must be noted that no marks will be deducted for any question that is left not attempted in any section. The negative marks have been elucidated below.

The part B answers of UCEED is to be drawn or written in the answer booklet provided by the invigilator. A total of 100 marks is allotted to this section which has to be attempted within one hour. The students must know that there will be only two questions which will test their drawing skills and design aptitude. This will be a subjective evaluation and the questions will be available on the computer screen for which the answers are to be drawn and written on the answer booklet. The submission of the answer booklet at the end of the examination to the invigilator is mandatory. Each of the two questions in part B of UCEED will carry 50 marks.

Before starting the preparation for the UCEED 2025 exam, the candidates must be aware of the UCEED exam pattern and syllabus. This will help in a structured preparation and they will not miss out on any topic. The official UCEED syllabus has been released with the brochure, but these are the most important UCEED exam subjects to cover. The UCEED exam is mostly based on a student’s skill of observation and designing.

Visualization and Spatial Reasoning: The spatial relation between 2D and 3D shapes and the ability to visualize and transform them.
Practical and Scientific Knowledge: To understand the basic principles of everyday objects
Observation and Design Sensibility: Attention to details and ability to analyse the concealed aspects of objects.
Environment and Society: General Awareness about environment and society.
Analytic and Logical Reasoning: Qualitative and quantitative tests.
Language: Ability to understand the standard English.
Creativity: To understand the verbal and nonverbal analogies.
To appear for UCEED 2025 entrance exam a candidate's UCEED 2025 eligibility is to have qualified 10+2 or equivalent or must be appearing the board exams in the current year. The candidate can be of any stream if they want admission in IIT Bombay, Delhi or Hyderabad. However, the candidate has to be from science stream with Biology/ Maths if they want to join IIITDM Jabalpur. For IIT Roorkee and Guwahati students need to have maths as a compulsory subject.
UCEED exam is conducted once a year by IIT Bombay.
UCEED exam 2025 will have two parts. Part A consists of NAT, MSQ and MCQ type of questions. And Part B of UCEED question paper tests a candidate’s aptitude and drawing skills.
Total marks for UCEED exam is 300 (Part A -200 and Part B - 100).
