UCEED Admission Selection Process

The students who qualify in the UCEED exam, and obtain a good rank above the cut-off will be eligible for admission into the participating institutes, which include IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Indore, and IIT Roorkee. There are many other design colleges in India accepting the UCEED score. Aspirants must also fulfil the eligibility criteria to get admission into these colleges. The students have to qualify the UCEED 2026 exam and fulfil the minimum educational qualification of 10 + 2 level or equivalent.

UCEED Admission Eligibility 2026

Students who want to take admissions into the IIT must fulfil certain UCEED 2026 eligibility criteria. The UCEED admission criteria was released along with the exam notification. The UCEED admission eligibility criteria include the student's minimum educational qualification and age limit. The UCEED Admission Criteria are listed below:

• The candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2001. In case of SC, ST and PwD candidates, there is an age relaxation of 5 years.
• The candidate should have qualified the UCEED and must have a valid rank.
• The students are allowed to appear the exam only twice within 2 years of qualifying 12th class. Only candidates who appeared for their class 12th exam for the first time in 2025 or 2026 are eligible.
• The students must have qualified the 10 + 2 level of examination or equivalent.
• The students who want admissions into IIITDM Jabalpur must have physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology in the 10 + 2. The students who want admission into IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee must be from science stream with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad accept students from all streams.

UCEED Admission Application Form 2026

The UCEED applications are closed. The UCEED 2026 application process includes registration of the students for the exam, appearing the exam, and qualifying it followed by a counselling process. Candidates can follow the steps given below to complete UCEED 2026 registration. Female and SC/ST/PwD candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 2000. Other candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 4000.

• The students must visit the official website of UCEED - uceed.iitb.ac.in.
• They need to fill out the details such as the candidate's name, mobile number and email address
• The students need to give additional details such as address, educational qualifications, parents' name and personal details.
• Relevant documents which include recent passport size photograph, signature, educational qualification, certificate of caste/tribe/PwD certificate etc should be provided.
• After the completion of uploading the documents, the students need to pay the UCEED admission fee for application using net banking/debit card/credit card. Without the payment of the application form the UCEED admission form is invalid.

After the UCEED admission form is completely filled out the students must submit it and download it for further reference.

UCEED Entrance Exam 2026

The UCEED entrance exam or IITs BDes entrance test is conducted for 3 hours to test the students' design aptitude and drawing skills. IIT Bombay conducts the UCEED entrance exam every year to select the students for B.Des admission. Candidates who qualify in the entrance exam have to participate in the UCEED counselling process.

UCEED Admission Procedure: Counselling

The UCEED counselling process comprises of submission of the online application for BDes programme. The UCEED counselling process will take place in an online mode. The students need to take the following steps for the UCEED counselling process:

• The students must have a valid UCEED rank followed by which they can register for the counselling process through the official website.
• The students need to login with their email id and create a password to fill out the application form for counselling.
• They must select their preferred Institute and fill in other personal details.
• They need to upload the documents such as photograph, signature, UCEED scorecard, qualifying examination scorecard, caste, or tribe certificate etc.
• A payment of Rs. 4000/- needs to be made as a counselling fee.
• Once the application form is submitted, they need to take a printout of the same for future reference.

UCEED Admission Allotment 2026

The UCEED seat allotment of the candidates will be done on the basis of all India rank that they have obtained. The candidates will be sent provisional allotment letters to their email id and they will be directed to an online payment system in order for them to pay the seat acceptance fee which is Rs. 60,000 for General, EWS, OBC NCL and Rs 15,000 for SC, ST and PWD. The students who have not paid the seat acceptance fee will be declined of their admission.

In the first round of the UCEED seat allotment the students can either accept (freeze) or decline it. If the students choose to decline it, they won't be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling. In the second, third, fourth or fifth round of counselling the candidates will be given a freeze/float option. If the candidates choose the freeze option it means that they have accepted the offer, and if they choose the float option it means that they are willing to accept the higher preference.

• The students must fulfil the required UCEED 2026 admission eligibility, which includes age requirements, minimum educational qualification, along with stream specifications.
• The students must fill up the UCEED application form before the deadline along with all the correct details and relevant documents. The students must make a UCEED admission form fee payment without which their admission form will not be accepted.
• The students must prepare for the UCEED entrance exam and secure a rank above the cutoff of the college that they want to take admission in.
• The students who qualify in the UCEED entrance exam must appear for the counselling process. The students must register for the counselling process and upload their preferences of institution along with documents required. The students also need to pay Rs. 4000 to complete the registration.
• After the UCEED counselling process is over the students who are allotted the seats need to pay the seat acceptance fee and further pay the UCEED admission fee to ensure that their seat is secure.
