IIT Guwahati Design Courses and Fee Structure 2021 -Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati was established in 1994 and it is the sixth IIT in its fraternity. Presently, IIT Guwahati has eleven departments and five interdisciplinary academic centres which offer design programmes in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. IIT Guwahati offers B.Des, M.Des and PhD degrees in various disciplines. IIT Guwahati fee structure is decided by the government norms. Currently, as per reservation basis, the fee structure of IIT Guwahati has been divided. Regardless of the reservation categories, IIT Guwahati offers various scholarship programmes to candidates. IIT Guwahati Design Courses
Candidates have a wide variety of design courses options in IIT Guwahati from undergraduate to doctoral levels. Admission in IIT Guwahati design courses is provided through UCEED/CEED/GATE score. Candidates must have a valid UCEED, CEED and GATE score for B.Des, M.Des and PhD admission respectively. Based on the UCEED, CEED and GATE score, applicants will be shortlisted for written test and personal interview. Aspirants will be offered admission based on the students performance in UCEED/CEED/GATE, written test and personal interview. B.Des is a four-year undergraduate degree course that consists of 8 semesters. M.Des programs have 4 semesters throughout the two-year academic session. IIT Guwahati provides maximum 6 years from the date of admission for a full-time student and 7 years for a part-time student to complete PhD degree.

As per the fee structure of IIT Guwahati Selected candidates will have to pay the course fee. IIT Guwahati fee structure includes tuition fees, caution deposit, mess charges, etc. Candidates can pay the fees online. IIT Guwahati fee stucture is mentioned in the table below.

All candidates are informed that IIT Guwahati fee structure will be same for B.Tech and B.Des programs. As per the IIT Guwahati Design Courses & Fee Structure, all candidates must keep in mind below points of IIT Guwahati fee structure-
The most economically backward (MEB) candidates, whose family income is less than Rs 1 lakh per annum, will get full remission of the fee.
For other economically backward students, where the family income is between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakhs per annum, we will get remission of 2/3rd of the fee.
SC/ST/PwD students can avail a complete fee waiver.

To be considered for admission to the Department of Design's M.Des. programme, an applicant must meet one of the following requirements:
A four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in design, engineering, architecture, interior design, or a related subject with a minimum CPI of 6.0 out of 10 or 60 marks is required.
NID's four-year Professional Diploma in Design or CEPT's five-year Professional Diploma in Design, with a minimal CPI of 6.0 out of 10 or 60% of scores.
The Department of Design would shortlist candidates and invite a chosen number of them to participate in the selection process (interview) on the day specified .
Based on GATE performance, grades/marks in the qualifying degree examination, and other factors, the Institute retains the right to contact a restricted number of candidates for a written test and/or interview/counseling/portfolio review, if necessary.

To be eligible for admission to MA in Development Studies , candidate must have a bachelor's (10+2+3) degree or equivalent from a recognized University, in any discipline, with a minimum of either 50% marks in major/honours only. As of now its tough to say because the analysis and also cutoffs change every year due to many factors like total students appearing for exam,difficulty level of paper etc.based on previous year data you have tough chances to fetch seat in IIT kharagpur for ece the cutoff is greater than 500,for ec2 its 483.however you have few chances to fetch seat in IIT guwahati.
