The ISDI 2026 exam pattern lists out the three parts of the ISDI challenge 2026. The institute will tentatively conduct the ISDI challenge 2026 in three cycles. The exam pattern of ISDI challenge 2026 will be the same for all the three cycles.

ISDI Challenge 2026 Exam Pattern for UG Courses

According to the prescribed pattern of the ISDI Challenge, candidates need to submit their portfolio along with their application number on the official website after receiving the confirmation mail from the institute. The ISDI Challenge consists of three steps:

  • Step A: Upload your Portfolio or Complete the Design Project (100 marks, 40% weightage)
  • Step B: Online Design Aptitude Test (100 marks, 30% weightage)
  • Step C: Online Interview (100 marks, 30% weightage)

Step A: Portfolio/ Design Project: Candidates have two options for this step:

Option 1 - Upload your Portfolio: Candidates can upload 8-10 pieces of their best works in any media, such as drawings, paintings, sculptures, performances, graphic designs, animations, photographs or sketchbook pages. The portfolio should be uploaded in the form of either a PDF file, multiple JPEG/JPG or a consolidated zip file, not exceeding 500 mb. Portfolio uploads can be used by ISDI for training purposes.

Option 2 - Complete the Design Project: Candidates who do not have a portfolio can complete the design project based on any one of the given themes:

  • One World
  • Tracing Nature
  • Translating Tomorrow

Candidates can use any media to create a visual work inspired by the chosen theme, such as drawing, video, photography, sculpture, 3D work, collage, and digital images. Candidates should also write a 500-word essay describing how their ideas developed.

ISDI Challenge DAT 2026

The second step of the ISDI Challenge 2026 is the Online Design Aptitude Test. The multiple-choice examination evaluates aptitude and knowledge related to design. The total time allotted for DAT is 60 minutes. The total marks for ISDI DAT is 100 marks with no negative marking for wrong answers.
