The whole pattern making question was about understanding and visualization. This question was first question of paper and the most time consuming one. Question on product design and perspective + its product, these two questions were ideation and imaginative skill based questions. Sequential drawings were totally on candidates knowledge and observation this total 75 marks of subjective part was unpredictable. It was the major twist of NID question paper 2024 pdf .

Question 1 :- Figure 1 and figure 2 were given and the third figure is the pattern made on the paper (the cutouts) Figure one: folded paper was given( the way how paper was folded ) figure 2 was also the folded and we had to make the pattern on non folded paper with dot lines, show folds and color the cut out parts (15 marks )

Question 2 :- Portable water carrying product :- Part A:-portable water caring product for the people who live in mountain areas and analyze their problems and complexities. Also write about the material for carrying 20 l water.(12 marks )

Part B :-How the person use it and we have to show the uses by an individual.( 8 marks)

Question 3:- We have to show three crucial activities of the process given below.( 20 marks )

Question 4:- Part A:- We have to draw a room for elderly people (age 55+)for a child at age 4 to10 years and the layout was already given in we only have to make objects .

Part B :-Draw one of the object from the scene in details and write the usage of the individual.

Part C:- The object you made earlier show out of the improved functionality of the product and write how it can be useful for the individual.

NID Previous Year Questions Papers for DAT Mains

Question 1: Doodle Exercise - 12 boxes are given (4 on each sheet). Fill in the lines in the given boxes and do what you think. You can turn the box to any side. It would be great if you could give your sketch a title.

Question 2: Design a Playful Toy (No use of adhesive) with the following materials:

  • Bamboo Sticks - 12

  • Ping Pong balls - 3

  • Colored OHP sheet - 2

  • Bangles - a set of 6

  • Wool - 1m

(Write about your model)
