Several coaching centers released the NID PYQ in response to student feedback, even though the National Institute of Design does not officially release the NID 2023 question paper. For more information on the NID DAT Entrance Exam question paper 2023, keep reading this article. NID 2026 will be held on December 21, 2025, for the prelims. Through the NID DAT entrance exam, candidates will be admitted into the B.Des and M.Des programmes of participating NID campuses.

NID 2023 Questions with Answers

NID DAT exam pattern consists of two sections such as objective type of questions and subjective type of questions according to the NID exam pattern. The NID B.Des prelims paper pattern evaluates the candidates aptitude for design, observation, creativity, and communication skills according to the NID DAT Syllabus 2026.

NID DAT Part -A Questions

Given below are the the NID Part A questions for student’s reference:

Ans: A girl sat in her backyard, enjoying the warm sunlight while her dog, Max, raced around in excitement. She noticed the garden plants were wilting from the dry weather, so she decided to water them. Grabbing a bucket, she connected the hose and began filling it with water. Max, curious, darted toward the stream of water, playfully jumping and snapping at it. The girl laughed as Max splashed around, forgetting about the task at hand. Suddenly, Max spotted a squirrel and dashed off, leaving the water flowing. The girl smiled and continued filling the bucket, now nearly full. Max returned, tired but happy, and sat next to her. She finally took the bucket to the garden and began watering the plants. At last, the bucket was filled with water.

NID 2023 Exam Analysis

NID prelims 2023 question paper carried 36 questions in total with MCQs each worth 1 mark and 5 subjective questions with marks ranging from 6 to 15 making total marks of the paper 100.

NID Section-wise Analysis:

  1. Aptitude Section (MCQs):

Difficulty Level was easy to moderate with some questions being pretty straightforward and some needed complex analysis and were time consuming. Questions were asked from topics including General Knowledge, Reasoning, Sustainable Development etc.

  1. Drawing Section (Subjective):

This section in NID B.des 2023 question paper was moderately difficult with questions asked from topics like Perspective drawing, Storyboard creation and Problem-solving scenarios. This section was time-consuming, with some questions being more complex than others.

In overall, candidates found paper lengthy, which may have impacted time management. The paper also involved tricky questions especially in the drawing section which required careful attention.

Yes you are eligible to appear for NID DAT for the M.Des programme. Since you are in final make sure you will have completed your BA by the required deadline. Also go through the specific specializations you want to apply for, some may require certain specific backgrounds to be eligible to apply for them. My son secured 563 Rank in NID DAT EXAM in 2025 but he could not have got Required Marks for NID College.Can he get addmission in good designing Colleges.Plz suggest colleges name

As 563 rank in nid dat exam cannot guarantee admission in designing college but it could be a good chance to explore some campus as if you are not from general category as category role plays an important role . But now you can do one thing focus on your strengthening your protofile or preparing for the studio test (bdes) or interview (mdes).
