The National Institute of Design (NID) has released the NID BDes offer letters for the seat allotment conducted in the first round of NID BDes counselling. Candidates were able to download the offer letter through their login from June 16 to 18. The authorities had announced the NID DAT 2026 round 1 seat allotment on June 9, 2026, on its official website. Candidates who received a seat had to pay the token fee by 4 PM on June 11, 2026, to confirm their admission. Candidates who didn't pay the token fee within the deadline had their allotted seat cancelled. Earlier, NID authorities released the NID DAT BDes mains result on May 26, 2026, on its official website. Earlier, authorities released the NID MDes 2026 provisional offer letter for round 1 on May 21, 2026.

The NID admission exam is held in two phases - Prelims and Mains. The NID admission is conducted centrally for all the campuses, such as NID Bangalore and NID Kurukshetra. The NID 2026 admission schedule was released on the official website - admissions.nid.edu. As per the schedule, the NID DAT 2026 BDes Mains examination was conducted in two stages. The Studio Test was held on April 19, 2026, followed by the in-person Sensitivity Test from May 11 to 17, 2026. For the MDes programme, the Studio Test was conducted on March 8, 2026, while the Personal Interview was held from March 21 to April 1, 2026.

Know the list of documents required to fill the NID admission form 2026
The NID admission exam, known as the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), is conducted in two stages.

The final selection is based only on the score of the NID mains. The NID 2026 prelims exam score will only be used to shortlist candidates for the NID DAT main exam.
