Before proceeding with the NID registration 2026, candidates must ensure that they have all necessary documents for NID registration and their scan copies ready to avoid any last-minute challenges. Here’s a check list of NID registration documents required by the candidates at the time of filling the application form.

• A recent passport-sized photograph

Caste Certificate Required Documents for NID Application Form 2026 for Reservation

• GEN-EWS Category: Upload a valid EWS Certificate issued on or after 1 April 2025, based on FY 2024–25 income. It must be in the candidate’s name, include the candidate’s photo, and be uploaded in PDF format (max 1 MB; multiple pages allowed). Non-English/Hindi certificates must include a notarized English translation along with the original.

• OBC-NCL Category: Upload a valid NID-format OBC-NCL Certificate issued on or after 1 April 2025, based on FY 2024–25 income, and in the candidate’s name. Upload in PDF format (max 1 MB; multiple pages allowed). Non-English/Hindi certificates require a notarized English translation plus the original.

• SC/ST Category: Upload a valid Caste Certificate issued in the candidate’s name by a Competent Authority, clearly stating the caste. Upload in PDF format (max 1 MB; multiple pages allowed). Certificates not in English/Hindi must include a notarized English translation with the original.

• PwD Category: Upload a valid Disability Certificate and/or UDID issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability.

• Overseas Category: Upload the first and last page of a valid passport in JPG/JPEG format, ensuring details are clearly visible. Passport must be current. Supporting documents must be uploaded in PDF format (max 1 MB; multiple pages allowed).

NID DAT Application Form 2026 - What if I upload the Wrong documents?

If candidates want to make any changes to their application form due to errors, then they can do so at time of the application form correction window between December 2 and December 4, 2025. NID will notify the application form correction dates on its official website after the closure of the registration window. The corrections can be made by logging in to the official web page using the allotted credentials and submitting them within the prescribed time.

How to fill the NID DAT Application form 2026?

Filling out the NID DAT 2026 application form involves several steps are listed below:

• Registration: Visit the official website of NID and navigate to the application portal. Candidates must register themselves by providing basic details like candidates name, email address, mobile number, etc. Applicants will receive login credentials upon successful registration to the registered email id.
• Login: Use the login credentials received to access the application form.
• Fill Personal Details: Enter the personal information such as name, date of birth, gender, nationality, etc.
• Educational Qualifications: Provide details about the educational background, including the name of the school/college, board/university, marks obtained, etc.
• Upload NID Documents: Upload scanned copies of NID documents required like recent passport-sized photograph, signature, caste/category certificate (if applicable), EWS certificate (if applicable), disability certificate (if applicable), and for international applicants, the first and last pages of the passport.
