- The students must have completed 10 + 2 levels of education from any stream.

NID Ahmedabad Entrance Exam 2025
The entrance exam for admission to NID Ahmedabad is called NID DAT. The NID DAT full form is NID Design Aptitude Test. The NID entrance exam is conducted in two phases - Prelims and Mains. Candidates who qualify the Prelims exam are eligible for the Mains. As per NID exam pattern 2025, prelims exam is a written test which consists of design aptitude, visual observation and analytical abilities. This exam has MCQs, subjective questions and sketching questions. The weightage for this exam is 40% in case of B.Des course.

The NID mains exam involves Studio tests and personal interview rounds that the students will be required to appear if they qualify the Prelims. The students need to showcase the practical skills and problem-solving abilities along with their communication abilities. The B Des course has 30% weightage in Mains and for M.Des it is 40% in studio test and 30% for interview. NID Ahmedabad Counselling 2025
Candidates who qualify the entrance exam must register for the NID counselling according to which the seat allotment will be done, based on the preference they submit. The detailed process of the counselling for NID Ahmedabad admission process is given below.
- After the final results are declared the students need to submit their campus preference. They can do so in between the stipulated time.
- In the first round of seat allotment the candidates will be given the seats based on their campus preference in order of merit. The students need to pay a nonrefundable token fee of Rs. 30,000.
- After the payment the students need to upload the required documents which are as follows.
- Any valid photo identity
- Birth certificate or proof of birth
- 10th Marksheet
- 12th Marksheet
- Self-undertaking in the prescribed format for those students who have not yet got
- their 12th results
- Caste certificate or minority certificate if applicable
- PWD certificate and UDID card if applicable
After the students have uploaded the documents the documents will be verified against the information that they have provided in their application form.
The candidates who have been successfully allotted seats will be given a provisional offer letter.

No, IPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) does not accept NID DAT Prelims score for admission to the B.Des (Bachelor of Design) program.
Instead, IPU conducts its own entrance test or may consider CUET (UG) scores for B.Des admissions, depending on the latest admission guidelines. Always refer to the university's official prospectus for the year you're applying to for the final admission criteria.
