National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) released the NIFT syllabus 2026 on its official website - nift.ac.in along with the official notification. The NIFT 2026 syllabus is available in the NIFT 2026 admission prospectus. The NIFT exam syllabus 2026 comprises of the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). In addition to the NIFT entrance exam, candidates have to appear for the second stage of admission which is a situation test for B.Des and an interview for NIFT PG programmes. The admission to B.FTech and M.FTech programmes is done purely through GAT.

The NIFT 2026 entrance exam consists of GAT and CAT components. The NIFT GAT is an objective type component designed to test a candidate's general awareness, mathematical, and logical thinking skills. The NIFT CAT evaluates a candidate's creativity and design aptitude.

Yes, a diploma holder in Computer Engineering can apply for the NIFT entrance exam , but only through the lateral entry route.
NIFT allows candidates with a 3-year or 4-year engineering diploma from a recognized board to apply for B.F.Tech (Fashion Technology) through lateral entry. The diploma must be approved by AICTE or the State Technical Board.
The age limit is usually 24 years for the general category.
So yes, you are eligible, as Computer Engineering is an engineering diploma.
