Aspirants who want to take part in the NIFT Hyderabad admission process must fulfil certain eligibility criteria without which their admissions will be cancelled. These eligibility criteria are different for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Students who want to get admissions into the BDes courses must have completed the 10 + 2 level of education in any stream from a recognised board.
The aspirants of BFTech should have Maths, Physics, and Chemistry compulsorily in the 12th examinations.
As per NIFT age restriction, the undergraduate aspirants must be under the age of 24 on 1st of August of the year of admission.
Should have completed their bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years or 3 years of diploma from NIFT or NID.
The MFTech students need to have BFTech from NIFT or BE/ BTech from a recognised institution.

Students who want to get admissions into NIFT Hyderabad are required to appear and qualify the NIFT Hyderabad entrance exam 2025. The NIFT entrance exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency every year which consists of a written test followed by a situation test or personal interview round based on the course the student has selected. Only those who qualify the written test will be eligible for NIFT situation test. The students who qualify both of these rounds are allowed to take part in the NIFT counselling process which is followed by seat allotment.
To get admission in BDes course at NIFT Hyderabad, candidates are required to fill and submit the NIFT exam application form. The NIFT application form 2025 is available online at the official website nift.ac.in. During the form fill up the students need to fill in details such as their name, address, parents' name, educational qualification, centre choices and provide all the element documents along with photograph and signature. The students must provide all the documents and information correctly and if any of the information found is wrong the admissions will be cancelled. After completing the application form the students need to pay a nonrefundable application fee without which their application process is incomplete.
The National Testing Agency will conduct the entrance examination at the NIFT exam centres on February 9. This entrance examination consists of a written test which has a creative ability test and general aptitude test. Only the students who are applying for BDes and MDes need to appear for the CAT exam which has drawing based questions. The GAT exam is compulsory for all students which tests basic Maths, comprehension, general knowledge etc.

The students who qualify the written test will be notified in the future to appear for either NIFT situation test at undergraduate level or personal interview round at the postgraduate level. Only the B.Des students need to appear for the situation test, which is designed in a way to assess the ability of material handling in the students. All the post graduate aspirants need to appear in the personal interview round to check their communication skills, knowledge about design, current affairs etc.
Once the NIFT results are declared, the next step in NIFT Hyderabad admission process is to sit for the counselling. NIFT counselling process requires the students to register themselves through the official website for choice filling of their preferred subject and campus. The student who takes part in the registration process of counselling needs to submit another form which includes the preferred NIFT campuses and course choices. NIFT Hyderabad aspirants must know the steps to register themselves for the counselling process.
As per NIFT counselling schedule 2025, candidates will have to take part in the NIFT Hyderabad counselling process need to register themselves through the following steps.
The students who qualified the entrance exam should have a CMR.
The students need to provide the roll number application number, mother's name and date of birth which will be authenticated by the NIFT authorities. The students will further need to create a password and keep it confidential.
Once the password is generated the students need to login again with the roll number and password to fill the other details in the application form.
The students have to submit the registration form after filling up information regarding date of birth, father's name, qualifications, and contact information.
The students need to upload the relevant documents asked.
The document submitted by the students will be verified online within its stipulated date. The students will need to report in the NIFT campus for the physical verification of documents. In case of any discrepancies the students will need to resubmit the document required for NIFT with proper information.
Once document verification has been done the students will need to select the preferred campus and program in order of preference and lock them before the deadline. The students must note that if they haven't locked the choices the already chosen list will be considered final. The students should take a printout of the locked choices for further reference.
Once the students have submitted their final preferences on or before the deadline, the NIFT seat allocation process will begin. In each round the students will be able to see a published list on the website of NIFT seat allocation. The students need to download the provisional allotment letter to indicate the acceptance of the seat. The students have three options to choose from freeze, float, and slide.
The students who choose the float option indicate that they are preferring for a higher choice across all campuses and programs in the next round. By choosing the slide option, the students show that they considered a higher preference in the same campus in the next round. By choosing the freeze option, the students accept the program which is offered to them. Once the students have decided to confirm the seat, they are required to deposit the fees within the stipulated time. The students are also given no test to report in the campus within the scheduled dates.
The students who choose the float option indicate that they are preferring for a higher choice across all campuses and programs in the next round. By choosing the slide option, the students show that they considered a higher preference in the same campus in the next round. By choosing the freeze option, the students accept the program which is offered to them. Once the students have decided to confirm the seat, they are required to deposit the fees within the stipulated time.

In each round of seat allotment the students will also be able to see the NIFT cut off. The NIFT Hyderabad cutoff will indicate the opening and closing rank based on the admissions done on the previous round. Being aware of the NIFT Hyderabad cut off the students can decide a range in which they can get the course they prefer.
The fee structure of NIFT Hyderabad for undergraduate and post graduate courses are different. The aspirants must know the NIFT Hyderabad fees for various courses. Various courses are available at undergraduate and postgraduate level in this campus. At undergraduate level, NIFT courses are offered BDes specialised in fashion design, accessory design, textile design, knitwear design, fashion communication etc. The students can also join the NIFT BFTech course specialised in apparel production. At the postgraduate level the students are offered only one program which is Master of Fashion Management.
Placements are an important component while choosing the college. NIFT placements are centralised which means all the campuses get equal opportunities to represent themselves. Top companies such as Aditya Birla fashion and retail limited, Reliance industry limited, Lifestyle private Limited etc. take part in the NIFT Hyderabad placements. The nationwide Institute of Fashion Technology offers a nationwide entrance exam called NIFT for admission to its fashion design programmes.
Every course has specific requirements that must be met in order to apply. For NIFT, there is no minimum age requirement, however it is evident that passing the 10+2 exam is a requirement in order to be admitted to any undergraduate programme in fashion design.
You cannot be admitted because you are in class eleven. However, you can apply to NIFT for experience and practice, and if your application is accepted, you can take the entrance exam. If you pass, however, be aware that you will not be able to retain your results for admission.

NIFT 2023 ELIGIBILITY - B.DES admission
1. Aspiring students must have completed a 10+2 board exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi or,
2. Any Board/Public School/University Examination conducted in India or abroad which is equivalent to the 10+2 system and is accorded by the Association of Indian Universities or,
3. If candidates complete the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Sri Lanka/ Cambridge/) at the Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB) then, they are eligible to apply or,
4. Students will also be eligible if they have passed the 10+2 examination conducted by the National Open School with at least five subjects or,
5. Diploma of 3 or 4 years which is recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.
Age limit - Candidates must be of 23 years of age as of August 1, 2022. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) get a relaxation of 5 years

In 2022 NIFT Entrance Examination was conducted in 32 cities. The candidates have to select the preference of the examination cities while filling the application form. Based on the availability, preferences of the examination cities you will be allotted an examination center. You have to appear for NIFT Entrance Examination in the allotted examination center as per the given schedule. You can select any city where examination is conducted while filling your preferences, make sure that you select the cities such that you can commute on the day of examination easily. Next year the list of examination cities may increase or decrease, the cities may vary.
