NIFT Hyderabad Admission: Overview

NIFT Hyderabad Eligibility 2027

Aspirants who want to take part in the NIFT Hyderabad admission process must fulfill certain eligibility criteria, without which their admissions will be cancelled. These eligibility criteria are different for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

NIFT Hyderabad Eligibility for Undergraduate Courses

• Students who want to get admission into the BDes courses must have completed the 10 + 2 level of education in any stream from a recognised board.
• The aspirants of BFTech should have Maths as a subject in the 12th examinations.
• As per NIFT age restriction, the undergraduate aspirants must be under the age of 24 on 1st of August of the year of admission.

NIFT Hyderabad Eligibility for Postgraduate Courses

• Should have completed a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years or a 3-year diploma from NIFT or NID.
• The MFTech students need to have BFTech from NIFT or BE/ BTech from a recognised institution.
• There are no specific age restrictions for postgraduate aspirants.

NIFT Hyderabad Admission Process 2027

Students who want to obtain admission into NIFT Hyderabad should appear for and qualify the NIFT entrance exam. The NIFT entrance exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency every year. The NIFT selection process consists of an entrance exam followed by a situation test or personal interview round based on the course the student has selected. Only those who qualify the entrance exam will be eligible for the NIFT situation test. The students who qualify in both of these rounds will be allowed to take part in the NIFT counselling process, which is followed by seat allotment.

NIFT Hyderabad Admission 2027: Entrance Exam Registration

To get admission in the BDes course at NIFT Hyderabad, candidates will be required to fill and submit the NIFT application form. The NIFT 2027 application form will tentatively open in December 2026. During the application process, students need to fill in details such as their name, address, parents' names, educational qualifications, centre choices, and provide all the required documents along with a photograph and signature. The students must provide all the documents and information correctly, and if any of the information found is wrong, the admissions will be cancelled. After completing the application form, the students should pay a non-refundable application fee without which their application process is incomplete.

NIFT Hyderabad 2027 Admission: Entrance Exam and Situation Test

The National Testing Agency conducts the entrance examination at the NIFT exam centres on January 10, 2027. The NIFT entrance examination consists of GAT and CAT. Only the students who apply for BDes and MDes have to appear for the CAT exam, which consists of drawing-based questions. The GAT exam is compulsory for all students and tests basic Maths, comprehension, general knowledge, etc.

Students who qualify in the written test must appear for either the NIFT situation test at the undergraduate level or the personal interview round at the postgraduate level. Only the B.Des students need to appear for the situation test, which is designed in a way to assess the students' ability in material handling in the students. All the postgraduate aspirants have to appear in the personal interview round to check their communication skills, knowledge about design, current affairs, etc.

NIFT Hyderabad Counselling 2027

The NIFT 2027 final result will be declared after conducting the NIFT stage 1 and stage 2 exam. After the result declaration, the next step in NIFT Hyderabad admission is the counselling process. NIFT counselling process requires students to register themselves through the official website for choice filling of their preferred subject and campus. Student who takes part in the registration process of counselling need to submit another form, which includes the preferred NIFT campuses in India and course choices. Candidates must know the steps to register for the NIFT counselling process.

NIFT Online Counselling Registration Process

As per the NIFT counselling schedule, candidates will have to take part in the NIFT Hyderabad counselling process and need to register themselves through the following steps.

• The students who qualify in the entrance exam should have a CMR.
• The students need to provide the roll number, application number, mother's name, and date of birth, which will be authenticated by the NIFT authorities. The students will further need to create a password and keep it confidential.
• Once the password is generated, the students need to log in again with the roll number and password to fill in the other details in the application form.
• The students have to submit the registration form after filling in information regarding date of birth, father's name, qualifications, and contact information.
• The students need to upload the relevant documents asked.

Document Verification

The documents submitted by the students will be verified online within the stipulated date. Students should report to the NIFT campus for the physical verification of documents. In case of any discrepancies, the students will need to resubmit the document required for NIFT with proper information.

Choice Filling

Once document verification has been done, the students will have to select the preferred campus and program in order of preference and lock them before the deadline. The students must note that if they have not locked their choices, the already chosen list will be considered final. They should take a printout of the locked choices for future reference.

NIFT Hyderabad Seat Allocation 2027

Once the students submit their final preferences on or before the deadline, the NIFT seat allotment process will begin based on the schedule. In each round, the students will be able to see a published list on the website of NIFT seat allocation. The students need to download the provisional allotment letter to indicate acceptance of the seat. The students have three options to choose from: freeze, float, and slide.

The students who choose the float option indicate that they prefer a higher choice across all campuses and programs in the next round. By choosing the slide option, the students show that they considered a higher preference for the same campus in the next round. By choosing the freeze option, the students accept the program that is offered to them. Once the students have decided to confirm the seat, they are required to deposit the fees within the stipulated time. The students are also given no test to report to campus within the scheduled dates.

The students who choose the float option indicate that they prefer a higher choice across all campuses and programs in the next round. By choosing the slide option, the students show that they have a higher preference for the same campus in the next round. By choosing the freeze option, the students accept the program that is offered to them. Once the students have decided to confirm the seat, they are required to deposit the fees within the stipulated time.

NIFT Hyderabad Cut Off 2027

The authority will release the NIFT Hyderabad cutoff for UG and PG admission online at nift.admissions.nic.in based on each round of counselling. In each round of seat allotment, the students will also be able to see the NIFT cut-off. The NIFT Hyderabad cutoff will indicate the opening and closing ranks based on the admissions done in the previous round.
