MIT Institute of Design will release the MIT DET exam pattern 2026 at its official website - mitid.edu.in. The MIT DET 2026 exam pattern comprises of DET (Design Entrance Test) in Phase-1 and Studio test and Personal Interview in Phase-2. Candidates can check the MIT entrance exam pattern 2026 at the official website. The MIT DAT 2026 exam will be held in offline mode. MIT DET examination will include computer-based MCQ (objective) test, subjective test and offline drawing test. This is the phase one of the entire process of admission to MIT. The duration of the paper will be 3 hours. Candidates have to answer 10 questions. The maximum marks of this paper will be 100. The paper will be set only in English medium. Candidates should go through the MIT DAT syllabus properly because the question paper is designed only from the official syllabus. Format of MIT DET Examination:
DET examination will include computer-based MCQ (objective) test, subjective test and offline drawing test.
Objective Exam – Computer Based Test
Questions would be appearing on the computer screen on a random basis with options shuffled for each candidate. Candidates need to answer the questions in online mode.
Descriptive Exam – Computer Based Test
The subjective question will appear in a different section on the computer screen. A text box will be enabled for each candidate to write their responses on the computer.
Drawing Exam – Offline Test
The drawing question will appear in a different section on the computer screen.
Candidates will be provided A4 size drawing sheets for this section and hence they need to draw using Pens / Pencils / Colours on the sheets provided. These answer sheets will be collected, scanned and uploaded for evaluation at the test centre.

The age limit for Bachelor of Design is 20 years and for Master of Design is 30 years.
To appear for the exam candidates must have completed 12th grade from any stream for B.Des and candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree for M.Des.
To get admission to MITID Pune, candidates need to appear for the MIT DAT entrance test. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a studio test and personal interview. Based on the total scores obtained the admission will be offered.
