NIFT Eligibility CriteriaNIFT Eligibility Criteria 2018- National Institute of Fashion Technology has notified the eligibility criteria of NIFT 2018 on October 20, 2017. Aspirants, who will fulfill the specified age and educational requirements, will be considered eligible. Only eligible students can fill NIFT 2018 application form, which is available from October 20, 2017. NIFT 2018 eligibility criteria mentions academic qualifications, age limit as well as other important aspects for admissions to the undergraduate programmes. NIFT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

 

As per the eligibility criteria of NIFT 2018, the maximum Age- 23 years as on October 1, 2017. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) subject to following qualifications.

 

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2018 for B.Des (Fashion Design/Leather Design/Accessory Design/Textile Design/Knitwear Design/Fashion Communication)

  • The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi

Or

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB)

Or

  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system

Or

  • A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects

Or

  • 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

 

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2018 for B.F.Tech (Apparel Production)

  • The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

Or

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/International Baccalaureate (IB)

Or

  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Or

  • A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Or

  • Three or Four years diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

 

Important Note:

  • Candidates appearing in final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIFT 2018.

  • If the class 12/final year/final semester (as the case may be) result of qualifying degree/certificate examination has not been declared by the concerned Board/ University till the date of NIFT 2018 counselling/admission, then the candidate’s admission in such case will be strictly provisional subject to the following conditions:

  1. Duly signed affidavit of Rs.10 on non-judicial stamp paper. In case, candidate is less than 18 years of age, then his/her parent or guardian should sign the affidavit.

  2. Final result of qualifying examination before September 30, 2018

  • Candidates, who are seeking provisional admission due to non declaration of their final year/final semester/class 12, will be required to provide proof of having passed all papers in all the previous years/semesters of qualifying degree examination (whichever relevant).
  • Candidates appearing for compartment examination(s) in class 12 will be considered only for provisional admission. However, they will have to clear the compartment exam under the same board. Failing to do so will result in automatic cancellation of provisional admission and forfeiture of entire fee.
 

National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi will conduct national level entrance test for admissions to 2010 seats of Bachelor of Design and 360 seats of Bachelor of Fashion Technology. There are as many as 16 NIFT campuses.
