NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2019 –The eligibility criteria of NIFT 2019 was announced by the National Institute of Fashion Technology on October 22, 2018. Aspirants seeking admissions to B.Des. and B.FTech programmes across sixteen campuses of the Institute must know NIFT 2019 eligibility criteria before filling the online application form. Those, who will fulfill the specified age and educational requirements for NIFT 2019, will be considered eligible. The application form could be filled from October 22, 2018 onwards. Candidates filled the application form with late fee until January 3, 2019. The eligibility criteria 2019 mentions the academic qualifications, age limit as well as other important aspects for admissions to the undergraduate design programmes. NIFT 2019 Eligibility Criteria
Age requirement- As per the prescribed eligibility criteria of NIFT 2019, the candidates should be of 23 years of age as on October 1, 2018. However, there is an age relaxation of five years for those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) subject to the below mentioned qualifications:
NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2019 for B.Des (Fashion Design/Leather Design/Accessory Design/Textile Design/Knitwear Design/Fashion Communication)
Class 12 exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB)
A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination held by the National Open School with at least five subjects
3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education
NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2019 for B.F.Tech (Apparel Production)
Class 12 exam in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. Having Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics is compulsory.
Any Public School/Board/University Exam in India or in foreign countries that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/International Baccalaureate (IB)
Three or four years’ diploma in any branch of engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education
A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Important points to keep in mind
Students appearing in final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for NIFT 2019.
In case the result of the class 12/final year/final semester has not been announced by the concerned Board/ University till the date of counselling procedure of NIFT 2019, then the candidate’s admission will be strictly provisional subject to the following conditions:
Final result of qualifying examination before September 30, 2019
Duly signed affidavit of Rs.10 on non-judicial stamp paper. Candidate’s parent/guardian should sign the affidavit in case he/she is less than 18 years of age.
Candidates seeking provisional admission because of non-declaration of their final year/final semester/class 12 will have to provide proof of having passed all papers in all the previous years/semesters of qualifying degree examination (whichever relevant).
Those who are appearing for compartment examination(s) of class 12 will be considered only for provisional admission. However, they will have to clear the compartment exam under the same board. Failing to do so will result in automatic cancellation of provisional admission and forfeiture of the entire fee.
National Institute of Fashion Technology conducted CAT and GAT for admissions to a total of 2,370 seats across Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fashion Technology programmes on January 20, 2019. Admissions will be offered across 16 campuses that are located in New Delhi, Patna, Mumbai, Kangra, Kolkata, Jodhpur, Kannur, Srinagar (Jammu), Hyderabad, Raebareli, Gandhinagar, Chennai, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Shillong, and Bhubaneswar.
