NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2020 - National Institute of Fashion Technology released the NIFT 2020 admit card. The authorities prescribed the eligibility criteria of NIFT 2020 on October 22. Aspirants who wish to take admission in B.Des or B.FTech programmes in any of the NIFT campuses should know the eligibility criteria prior to filling the application form. The eligibility criteria of NIFT mentions the academic qualifications, age limit as well as other important aspects that aspirants have to fulfil to be eligible to take NIFT entrance exam 2020. Candidates were allowed to fill the application form in online mode from October 23 to December 31, 2019. Candidates filled the application form with late fee until January 4, 2020. Qualifying Exam

Age Requirement

Students should have passed class 12 exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi

Or

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system

Or

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB)

Or

A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination held by the National Open School with at least five subjects

Or

3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education


Candidates should be of 23 years of age as on October 1, 2019. However, there is an age relaxation of five years for those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP)

Qualifying exam

Age Criteria

Class 12 exam in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. Having Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics is compulsory.

Or

Any Public School/Board/University Exam in India or in foreign countries that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics

Or

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/International Baccalaureate (IB)

Or

Three or four years’ diploma in any branch of engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

Or

A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics



Candidates should be of 23 years of age as on October 1, 2019. Students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person with Disability (PHP) get an age relaxation of five years



NIFT Eligibility Criteria - Important points to keep in mind

  • Students appearing in the final year of qualifying examination were also eligible to appear for NIFT 2020.

  • In case, the result of the class 12/final year/final semester is awaited till the date of counselling procedure of NIFT 2020, Candidate’s admission will be strictly provisional subject to the following conditions:

  1. Submit final result of qualifying examination before September 30, 2020

  2. Duly signed affidavit of Rs.10 on non-judicial stamp paper. Candidate’s parent/guardian should sign the affidavit in case he/she is less than 18 years of age.

  • Candidates seeking provisional admission because their final year/final semester/class 12 result is yet to be declared, they will have to provide proof of having passed all papers in all the previous years/semesters of qualifying degree examination (whichever relevant).

  • Those who appeared for compartment examination(s) of class 12 would be considered only for provisional admission. However, they have to clear the compartment exam under the same board. Those who fail to clear, it would result in automatic cancellation of provisional admission and forfeiture of the entire fee.

Hello student student yes sure you can appear for nift entrance examination in 2021 as eligibility criteria says students must have passed class 12 (or appearing) with any discipline from a recognized board.

Nift offer two Bachelor course one is B.design and second is B.ftech candidates applying for b.ftech must have physics chemistry and mathematics in class 12.and for bachelor of design any stream students can apply.

Hello,

The results for NIFT 2020 written test will be declared in the month of March, 2020. Accordingly, the students will be called for further round like GD or PI. The final results for the same will be announced in the month of May 2020.

It's okay if your sister does not clear nift entrance, there are lot of private universities like Pearl Academy,IIAD etc that she apply for. They have very easy entrance, all you need there is a good portfolio and confidence that's it. Don't worry she will get into one soon

what will be the minimum marks to clear out of 100 and 150 marks in NIFT entrance exam?

Passing marks may vary every year.

As you might know , nift entrance consist of cat-50% gat-30% and situation test-20%. So if you scored well in written exam you can easily get among top 2000 and get selected for situation test.

Marks vary year to year. Your performance in situation test will actually decide your rank.
