What is the NIFT 2027 Admission Process?

The full form of NIFT is the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The NIFT 2027 admissions are offered in various programmes such as BDes, MDes, and B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and MFM programmes. The qualified candidates in the entrance exam must further qualify in the situation test/ personal interview to be eligible for NIFT counselling and the seat allotment process.

Aspiring candidates have to register online, which is the first step in the NIFT admission process. After completing the registration process, candidates have to appear for the NIFT 2027 entrance exam. To obtain NIFT 2027 admission, candidates have to appear for the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT), components of the entrance exam. The shortlisted candidates appear for the Situation Test/ PI as a part of the NIFT admission process.

The CAT and GAT exams are the prerequisites for B.Des and M.Des admissions and are conducted online. For admission to the BFTech programme, the candidates only appear for the NIFT GAT question paper. Meanwhile, it is a must for the MFM candidates to pass both the GAT and the PI rounds to gain admission at any of the NIFT campuses.

NIFT Admission Criteria 2027

The National Testing Agency has released the NIFT 2027 eligibility criteria through the official brochure on the official website. Before starting the NIFT application process, candidates are required to check and meet the NIFT admission criteria. The criteria for NIFT admission are given below:

• Educational Qualification (Academics): The candidates must have completed their secondary education in the 10+2 pattern from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, including the Central Board of Secondary Education or the State Board, New Delhi, or the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
• Age limit: The candidates should be 24 years or younger as of August 1, 2027. However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) categories is provided for candidates.

NIFT 2027 Admission Eligibility for B.F.Tech. Programme

• Educational Qualification (Academic): Candidates must have completed their Plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern from any Central or State Board of Secondary Examination recognised by the government, with Physics & Mathematics as subjects.
• Age limit: Candidates should be 24 years old or younger as of August 1, 2027. However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit is provided for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) category candidates.

NIFT Admission Registration 2027

The NIFT 2027 application form will be opened soon on its official website. Currently, authorities have notified the NIFT 2027 exam date on its official website. The NIFT 2027 entrance exam will be held on January 10, 2027. Interested candidates can complete their registration to fill out the application form. After the registration process, candidates are allotted a registered user ID and password so as to submit the NIFT application form through the given credentials. While submitting the NIFT 2027 application form, candidates will have to pay the application fee as prescribed by the authorities.

NIFT Admission Counselling 2027

The NIFT 2027 counselling process will be held for the candidates who are shortlisted in the NIFT 2027 entrance exam. All the shortlisted candidates in the NIFT 2027 exam should complete the counselling registration process and submit their required documents before the deadline. The NIFT 2027 counselling session will be tentatively held in 3 rounds, followed by a spot round. Authorities will allocate the seats to the candidates based on their ranks, seat availability, and campus preference.

NIFT conducts a centralised seat allotment process through online counselling. The category-wise seat distribution across all the NIFT campuses for different academic programmes will be updated on the official website - nift.ac.in.
