The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will notify the NIFT 2026 admission schedule on its official website - nift.ac.in. National Testing Agency is expected to open the NIFT 2026 application form tentatively in November 2025. The NIFT 2026 schedule will include the dates for registration, the exam date, and dates for the second stage of NIFT 2026. The NIFT admissions 2026 will be done through a centralised counselling process. Candidates will obtain seat allotment into various programmes of participating NIFT campuses.

The full form of NIFT is the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The aspiring candidates have to register online, which is the first step in the NIFT admission process. After successfully completing the registration process, candidates have to appear for the NIFT 2026 entrance exam. To obtain NIFT 2026 admission, candidates have to appear for the Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) components of the entrance exam. The shortlisted candidates appear for Situation Test/ PI as a part of the NIFT admission process.
The CAT and GAT exams are the prerequisites for B.Des and M.Des admissions and is conducted online. For admission to the BFTech programme, the candidates only appear for the NIFT GAT question paper. Meanwhile, it is a must for the MFM candidates to pass in both the GAT and the PI rounds to acquire admission at any of the NIFT campuses.

The NIFT eligibility criteria is released through the official brochure at nift.ac.in. Before starting the NIFT application process, the candidates are required to check and meet the NIFT admission criteria. The criteria for NIFT admission is given below:
Qualification (Academics): The candidates must have completed their secondary education in the 10+2 pattern from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, including the Central Board of Secondary Education or the State Board New Delhi, or the Council for the Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
Age limit: The candidates should be 24 years or below as of August 1, 2026. However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) categories is provided for candidates.

The NIFT 2026 registration dates will be notified on the NTA's official website. Candidates can register online after paying the required registration fees.
