The full form of UCEED is Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design. The UCEED 2026 is the entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay every year to offer BDes admission. The UCEED 2026 exam date was announced online at the institute's official website - uceed.iitb.ac.in.
Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design, or UCEED, is one of the most popular design entrance exams in India. UCEED entrance exam is conducted for undergraduate design courses offered at 7 IITs - IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, IIT Indore and IIITDM Jabalpur. Along with IITs, UCEED exam scores are also accepted by some of the best private design schools such as BITS Pilani, VIT Vellore, FDDI.
To be eligible for the UCEED exam, it is mandatory for candidates to meet the eligibility criteria laid down by the concerned authorities. As per UCEED 2026 eligibility criteria, candidates should have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) or should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in the exam appearing year to be eligible for attempting UCEED.
Moreover, there is UCEED age limit, according to which candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 2001, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1996, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
As per the UCEED syllabus, the UCEED entrance exam comprises of two parts:
As per the official brochure, a candidate can appear for the UCEED entrance exam a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. Moreover, the UCEED scorecard is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year. After the UCEED result is declared, candidates must download the scorecard within the prescribed deadline.
At the time of filling out the UCEED application form, candidates are required to pay the registration fee. The registration fee for the UCEED entrance exam is as follows.

In your case, you do not need a separate or additional category validity ceriticate for IITs. Caste validiity certificate only exists for students from Maharashtra. The central format is sufficient for IIT admission.
