UCEED Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria 2027: Qualifying Exam

The UCEED eligibility criteria 2027 in terms of qualifying examination is that the candidates must have passed all the subjects in the qualifying examination which is class 12th or equivalent in the year 2026. Or should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in the year 2027. The candidate from any stream, i.e. science, commerce and arts or humanities are eligible as per the UCEED entrance exam eligibility 2027. Given below are the details about the qualifying exam requirements as per the UCEED eligibility criteria 2027.

• Final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
• Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiu.ac.in).
• Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
• Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• H.S.C. vocational examination.
• General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
• Candidates who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII examination.
• In case the Class XII examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have already passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination before appearing for UCEED

Required Subjects to Apply for UCEED BDes 2027

The prerequisites for each college vary according to the qualifying examinations. The aspiring candidates need to check the eligibility criteria of the participating institutes before filling in the UCEED application form to ensure that no mistakes are made.

• The candidate should have passed Class XII or equivalent in 2026 or 2027. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2025 or earlier are not eligible.

• Candidates from the Science Stream (at 10+2 level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all participating institutes (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee IIT Indore and IIITDM Jabalpur). Candidates from any other stream (Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.

Is Maths compulsory for UCEED 2027

IIITDM Jabalpur requires students to have physics, chemistry and biology/mathematics for admissions. IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee require students to have physics, chemistry, and mathematics as a compulsory subject in class 12th. Candidates from all streams can apply for IIT Bombay, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Indore.

UCEED Age Limit 2027

The prescribed UCEED exam age limit for is that the candidate must be born on/after October 1, 2002. This is the UCEED exam age limit for candidates belonging to OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD have an age relaxation of 5 (five) years and must be born on/after October 1, 1997.

UCEED Entrance Exam Eligibility 2027: Number of Attempts

The UCEED entrance exam eligibility criteria state that the candidates will be able to appear for UCEED a maximum of two times. The candidates can appear only twice, and that too in consecutive years. The marks obtained in the UCEED exam are valid only for a single year.
