As per eligibility criteria of NIFT 2020, applicants should be of 23 years of age as on October 1, 2019. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories get five years of relaxation. Also, they must have passed class 12 exam in the 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination.

Candidates should keep the following documents and information before filling NIFT application form 2020.

The steps to fill NIFT 2020 application form are given below in details. They can follow these steps to fill the application form without facing any trouble.
Step 1- Create Login
Candidates have to create their login account first to register themselves. They will have to click on ‘Fresh Candidates to create Log In’ for registering.Students have to enter the following information:

Candidates must note that their registered e-mail ID and DOB is the login ID for NIFT 2020 application.
Step 2 - Fill NIFT Application Form 2020
Candidates are required to log in using the registered email ID and Date of birth for filling NIFT 2020 application form. They need to enter the verification code and click on ‘Submit’ button. Candidates can see that the personal details provided by them while registering for NIFT 2020 are already filled. Next, they will have to fill the following details:

Candidates should carefully read the declaration, and click on the check box of ‘I agree’.They should click on ‘Save’ button after checking the information.
Step 3 - Upload photograph and signature
In this section of NIFT 2020 application form, candidates will have to upload the documents according to the specifications mentioned above in the article. Click on the ‘Next’ button to proceed to the next step.
The application fee of NIFT 2020 can be paid in online mode through credit/ debit card or demand draft (DD) issued in favour of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi. The bank and transaction charges on the fee will have to be borne by the applicant.
Applicants have to fill the details of the DD in the NIFT online application form 2020. Candidates should carefully check the name, date, amount and signature of the issuing authority on the demand draft before sending. Those paying the application fee through DD should send the printout of NIFT 2020 application form, carefully completed in all respects, along with demand draft to the following address:

Candidates must note that they should send the application form on time. Incomplete forms or forms received late are subject to get rejected. They should keep the printout of the form and DD for future reference.
Candidates will get an opportunity to correct the information in their application, if needed. The window for updating/editing the application form will open from January 1 to 4, 2020. Candidates can edit the information in NIFT application form prior to making the payment. They, however, can not change the city of examination. If the application form is found ineligible for NIFT admissions 2020 after editing it, the application fee already paid will not be refunded. The Institute has the right to cancel the candidature of an applicant at any stage if it is found that the information provided is false.

The NIFT entrance exam is a pen and paper test with two papers- Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) and General Aptitude Test (GAT). For B.Des. and M.Des., GAT is conducted for 2 hours and for B.F.Tech., M.F.M., and M.F.Tech., GAT is conducted for 3 hours because of the differences in the weightage. The number of questions also differ from course to course.
CAT evaluates your creativity and deigning aptitude. This is important if you are seeking Bachelors of Design as your course. Your intuition skills and observation skills should be put into practice to achieve good marks in the same. Colour and illustration skills become important and will also be evaluated in this.
GAT evaluates the academic aptitude like Mathematics (class 10th level), Reasoning, English Language and Comprehension. It also consists of GK, current affairs and the knowledge of the fashion industry.
English consists of spot the error, sentence correction, analogies, syntax, synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, one word substitution, fill in the blanks, spelling errors, grammar and arranging the sentences or passages in the correct order.
Reasoning consists of verbal and non-verbal series, directions, ranking, calendar, sitting arrangement, coding-decoding, cubes and dices, clocks, syllogism, puzzles, blood relations, eligibility criteria, line counting, graph and related things.
GK and Current Affairs section apart from the GK and current affairs, also consists of questions based on fashion. Be aware of TV endorsements and their taglines used for different products in the same, fashion terminology, entertainment events, brands, logos, celebrities, Miss Universe, Miss World and fashion trends both which are in and out. Other than that, be thorough with current affairs consisting of the political, economic and social situation and also with sports, culture and history of India.
Mathematics consists of the pipes and cisterns, work time, simple interest, compound interest, averages, mensuration, set theory, number system, ratio and proportion, ages, profit and loss, speed time, height and distance,mixtures and allegations, trigonometry, upstream & downstream, permutation and combination and probability.
There are 100 questions for B.Des. paper which are divided as follows:
English Comprehension- 25 questions
Quantitative ability- 20 questions
Communication ability- 25 questions
Analytical ability- 15 marks
GK and current affairs- 15 marks
