    The National Institute of Fashion Technology is one of the top design colleges in India, with its 20 campuses. To obtain admission to the NIFT campuses in India, there is a huge demand in the fashion industry. Every year, around 16000+ candidates register and appear for the NIFT entrance exam to get admitted into the design programme. The NIFT 2027 exam will be conducted in two stages: Stage 1 - CAT & GAT, Stage 2 - situation test or personal interview round. Shortlisted candidates in NIFT stage 1 will be sent for the stage two examination.     Qualifying Marks For NIFT Entrance Exam

    What are the qualifying marks for NIFT?

    The qualifying marks are the scores that the students must get for NIFT admission. The NIFT exam will be conducted in stages based on the BDes and MDes programmes. Shortlisted candidates from the NIFT entrance exam were sent for the next stage of admission in the ratio of 1:4, which means four candidates for every seat. However, candidates are required to clear the NIFT cutoff to secure final admission.

    NIFT Marks Vs Rank (As per last year - 2026)

    The qualifying marks in the NIFT entrance exam will be the baseline required to enter second stage of NIFT entrance exam followed by securing a rank. While qualifying marks in CAT and GAT helps the candidate to enter the second stage of the exam, the actual rank depends on the total marks secured in the two stages of the examination. In simpler words, scoring qualifying marks will allow you to enter the second stage of the examination, where as securing maximum marks will help you get a higher rank to stand out in one of the most competitive design entrance exam. As per the last year's cutoff, around 75 marks is considered to be a good score for top NIFT campuses in India.

    Understanding of the qualifying marks for the NIFT exam
