BITS Design School, Mumbai, will conduct BITS DAT 2026 exam from March 31 to April 5, 2026. The institute will announce the shortlisted candidates, based on the BITS DAT 2026 scores/ UCEED/NID scores, on April 16. It had earlier opened the BITSDAT 2026 application form on October 16, 2025. Candidates were allowed to complete BITSDAT 2026 registrations online from the official website - bitsdesign.edu.in till February 1, 2026. The BITS DAT 2026 application fee was Rs 2500 to complete the registration. The institute will conduct the BITS DAT 2026 in online mode. Through the BITS design admissions 2026 process, candidates will be admitted into the 4-year residential B.Des programme offered by the institute.
In addition to BITS DAT 2026, the institute also accepts scores in UCEED and NID DAT. Candidates having a valid score in these design entrance exams can apply directly without appearing for the BITS design exam. However, they have to attend other components of the BITS Design selection process.
BITS DAT 2026 Admission Process
The BITS Design selection process involves three stages -
- Valid score in BITSDAT, UCEED or NID DAT
- Uploading the portfolio for evaluation by the faculty
- Interview Round
Shortlisted candidates from the entrance exam will be required to upload their portfolio which can include physical models or prototypes, small projects or visual narratives like artwork, painting, photographs or video animations.
After the portfolio round, candidates must also attend an interview round, where they will be evaluated for general awareness, technical knowledge, communication and social skills, and suitability for the course.
