BITS Design Aptitude Test 2026: Application Form Open, Exam Date Out, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Preparation

BITS Design School Mumbai has opened the BITS DAT application form 2026 online on October 16, 2025. Interested applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply till February 1, 2026. Candidates who have a valid score in UCEED or NID DAT need not appear for BITS DAT exam.

How to Apply for BITS DAT 2026?

Interested candidates can complete the BITS Design registrations by following the steps below -

• Visit the official website bitsdesign.edu.in
• Click on the "apply" on the top right corner of the homepage. 
• On the next page, fill in basic details like your full name, email ID, residential address etc.
• Next, upload any documents that are required 
• Pay the BITSDAT application fees to submit the application form
• After payment of the BITSDAT 2026 application fee is completed, the applicants will receive a confirmation email on their registered email ID.

BITS Design School prescribes the BITS DAT 2026 eligibility criteria on its official website. Interested candidates must make sure they fulfill the BITS DAT eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. The details of the eligibility criteria are given in the table below.

The BITS DAT exam is conducted online. Candidates will be evaluated on various skills such as logical reasoning, design aptitude, English proficiency, and non-verbal reasoning. The details of the exam pattern and syllabus are given below.

Given below are a few quick tips to prepare for the BITS aptitude test. Candidates can make use of the following-

• Candidates should follow a proper timetable, allocating time for the sections as per one's level of preparation and exam readiness
• Solving sample papers and previous year question papers will familiarise candidates with the exam structure, help improve speed, and also provide the candidate with an assessment of their own preparation.
• Regularly reading english newspapers and magazines will help candidates remain updated with the latest trends, improve reading speed, and english proficiency
• Candidates must also work towards improving their spoken english and communication skills which will help them during the interview stage.

The BITS DAT admit card 2026 will be issued online to the candidates. Candidates can download the admit card of BITS DAT 2026 through their login. All candidates who have completed their BITS DAT 2026 registration will be issued the admit card. The BITS DAT admit card 2026 will be a mandatory document to appear for the exam. 

Steps to Download BITS DAT Admit Card 2026

• Visit the official website - bitsdesign.edu.in
• Log in to the admit card download portal
• Enter the required credentials
• The BITS DAT 2026 admit card will be displayed on the screen
• Download and save the admit card for future reference

Candidates will be required to upload the BITS DAT 2026 result score from April 8 to April 12, 2026, through their login. Candidates who have a valid score in UCEED or NID DAT can also upload their scores during this timeline. The institute will announce the shortlisted candidates, based on the BITS DAT 2026 scores/ UCEED/NID scores, on April 16, 2026.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to upload their portfolio and appear for an interview. The final result will be declared on May 18, 2026.

The selection process of BITS DAT includes three stages, namely the entrance exam, portfolio evaluation, and interview round. Candidates who are shortlisted from the entrance exam will be required to upload their portfolio from April 16-20, 2026. After evaluation of the portfolio, the candidates will be called to attend an online interview, which will be conducted from May 2-12, 2026. Candidates have to attend all components of the BITS DAT 2026 selection process to secure final admission.

Portfolio Round

The candidate’s portfolio will be evaluated by the faculty. The portfolio can include but is not limited to the following items

• Any physical models or prototypes designed by the candidate
• Any science/electronics/robotics project that showcases the candidate’s ability to build
• Visual narratives like paintings, drawings, or photographs
• Videos or animations created by the candidate
• Any app or website designed by the candidate
• In-process drawings or ideas

• Commitment level to a career in design
• Creative aptitude and aesthetic sense
• Design aptitude and problem-solving
• Verbal and non-verbal communication
