BITS Design Aptitude Test 2027: Exam Notification (Out), Exam Date, Application Form, Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Authorities will open the BITS DAT 2027 application form on October 15, 2026. Interested applicants can complete the registration and submit their application forms by January 31, 2027. Candidates who have a valid score in UCEED or NID DAT need not appear for the BITS DAT exam. Such candidates can directly appear for the interview round.

How to Apply for BITS DAT 2027?

Interested candidates can complete the BITS Design registration by following the steps below:

• Visit the official website bitsdesign.edu.in
• Click on "Apply" in the top right corner of the homepage. 
• On the next page, fill in basic details like your full name, email ID, residential address, etc.
• Next, upload any documents that are required 
• Pay the BITSDAT application fees to submit the application form
• After payment of the BITSDAT 2027 application fee is completed, the applicants will receive a confirmation email at their registered email ID.

BITS Design School prescribes the BITS DAT 2027 eligibility criteria on its official website. Interested candidates must make sure they fulfill the BITS DAT eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. The details of the eligibility criteria are given in the table below.

Given below are a few quick tips to prepare for the BITS aptitude test. Candidates can make use of the following-

• Candidates should follow a proper timetable, allocating time for the sections as per one's level of preparation and exam readiness
• Solving sample papers and previous year question papers will familiarise candidates with the exam structure, help improve speed, and also provide the candidate with an assessment of their own preparation.
• Regularly reading english newspapers and magazines will help candidates remain updated with the latest trends, improve reading speed, and english proficiency
• Candidates must also work towards improving their spoken english and communication skills which will help them during the interview stage.

The BITS DAT admit card 2027 will be issued online to the candidates. Candidates can download the admit card of BITS DAT through their login. All candidates who have completed the registration will be issued the admit card. The BITS DAT admit card will be a mandatory document to appear for the exam. 

Steps to Download BITS DAT Admit Card 2027

• Visit the official website - bitsdesign.edu.in
• Log in to the admit card download portal
• Enter the required credentials
• The BITS DAT 2027 admit card will be displayed on the screen
• Download and save the admit card for future reference

The BITS DAT 2027 entrance exam result will be declared on April 16, 2027. Shortlisted candidates in the entrance exam are required to upload their BITS DAT scores and portfolios through their login on the prescribed date. The personal interview round will be held from May 4 to 13, 2027. Based on all the examination stages, authorities will release the BITS DAT 2027 final result on May 18, 2027. The final result will be prepared based on the candidate's score in the entrance exam and the interview process. Shortlisted candidates have to complete fee payment and document verification to secure admission. 

The selection process of BITS DAT 2027 includes three stages, namely the entrance exam, portfolio evaluation, and interview round. Candidates who are shortlisted from the entrance exam will be required to upload their portfolio. After evaluation of the portfolio, the candidates will be called to attend an online interview. Candidates have to attend all components of the BITS DAT selection process to secure final admission.

Portfolio Round

The candidate’s portfolio will be evaluated by the faculty. The portfolio can include but is not limited to the following items

• Any physical models or prototypes designed by the candidate
• Any science/electronics/robotics project that showcases the candidate’s ability to build
• Visual narratives like paintings, drawings, or photographs
• Videos or animations created by the candidate
• Any app or website designed by the candidate
• In-process drawings or ideas
