You are given 60 minutes to solve 60 questions in this test. You need to manage the time accordingly with keeping more time taking questions for the end.
The Design Principles, creative visualization and General Knowledge, are usually the most prioritized sections of the test. The Logical Reasoning Questions in the test are mostly Non-Verbal and simple, including the Simple Math and Science questions.

Understand that throughout the SEED preparation, the key aspects that you will be preparing as tested in the SEED exam are for Creative Aptitude, Observations, Visualizations, Subject-related Knowledge, and Critical Thinking.
This section is given a good weightage, as it tests a variety of your skill sets.
Color theory, color schemes, Light and shadow, Gestalt theory, Focal point, and Additive, and Subtractive colors must be your strongholds. Read about them and make notes for the important topics. It is important to understand and remember these topics thoroughly as a lot of them are theory based.
Enrich your knowledge in these by practically applying these skills, and make notes about every element. This helps in understanding the topics better and further help in getting accurate solutions.
Start early preparation, try to learn at least 2-3 principles daily, and go through the supporting examples.
Pay close attention to logos, brands, and patterns around you. It could be currency, newspaper patterns, optical illusions, etc. Observation is the key here, students need to observe them closely and understand the details and the reasons for these details.
There are more pictorial Logical reasoning questions in this exam, as compared to other exams like NIFT, and NID which have more questions on alphabet series, seating arrangement, etc.
Find resources on optical illusions etc. Understand the language of questions and purpose behind them being asked in the exam and then prepare accordingly.
Remember that it is a very observation-based topic and hence it is important to pay foremost attention to a question while solving it, to get it right at once. This means that there are specific shortcuts and techniques to solve such questions; become aware of resources that might help you do the same.
This section includes questions from art history, Modern and historical Architecture styles of India, and worldwide, Folk dance and music, Musicians, World Heritage Sites, etc.
A lot of questions come from this section and it is hence important to make quiz cards about them and practice thoroughly.
Enrichment occurs through repeated exposure, so make sure you do at least 1 hour of GK in the morning for better grasp. Make a habit to follow the news and stay aware of what is happening in the world on a daily basis.
You can use video resources if you think that it is monotonous to read them out of books.
Pay attention to brands and logos and categorize them based on color, type of brand, taglines, etc.
Keep up to date with basic acronyms of Technology, and famous generational products like the Macintosh.
Very basic questions arrive from this segment. You can revise the 10th NCERT books for this section. Going through your 10th standard notes and questions are a great source to prepare for this section.
Keep formula sheets handy, and simple scientific definitions as well.
Mathematical definitions and simple theories are also important.
Do not overlook this section considering it to be simple; you may expect anywhere between 4-10 questions from this section.
Since there are very few questions that require solving, you can spend a maximum of 3-40 seconds per question. Questions that take you more time to solve can utilize the extra time saved from the easier questions.
Make sure you solve enough question papers to understand the varying patterns and syllabus. This not only prepares you for types of questions but also boosts your confidence on how to appear in the exam.
Prepare your portfolio in such a way that you include 8-10 of your best works.
Understand the right tonality of your works and make your designs as creative and practical as possible. Consider various factors like sustainability, ergonomics, visual appeal, functionality, etc for your projects.
Explain each of your works in fair detail. Do not overcomplicate it and do not make it text-heavy, just annotate well. Your portfolio should be visually appealing and stand out as usually examiners can’t give a lot of their time in reading everything and therefore, an interesting looking project has more chances to catch their eyes.
Include an SOP: Statement of Purpose, which is a type of resume, wherein you mention who you are, where you studied etc, and mainly why you want to be a part of SID. Try to convey what has been your journey and what are your goals you want to achieve in future in taking up the course and from the institution itself.
Include your exposure to a variety of skills, especially sketching, ideation, and processes that you followed to arrive at your final idea.
