As per eligibility criteria for admission in NID MDes course, candidates must be within a certain age limit depending on their category. The age limit is calculated as of July 1, 1992. The category-wise age limit is as follows:

For Indian Nationals in General Category and General EWS Category: Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 1992.

• For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST): Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 1989. Get a relaxation of 3 years in the age limit.

• For Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 1987. Get a relaxation of 5 years in the age limit.

• For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 1992. Do not get any relaxation in the age limit.

NID Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have one of the following qualifications to be eligible for admission:

• Bachelor Degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialisation, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard from any university and/or institute recognized by the law in India.

• Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design/ Fine Arts/ Applied Arts/ Architecture, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard, from university and/or institute recognized by the law in India.

• Bachelor Degree of minimum 3-year duration in any specialisation, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard from university and/or institute recognized by the law in India.
