The National Institute of Design will announce the NID DAT Prelims results for B.Des and M.Des on its official admissions portal at admissions.nid.edu. Candidates will be able to view their results by logging in through the admission portal. At present, aspirants need to prepare for the NID DAT entrance examination scheduled for December 21, 2025. To access the Prelims results, candidates must use their registered login credentials, including their email ID and date of birth.

The NID DAT Prelims Result 2026 will be made available on the official NID admissions website. Candidates can access their results by logging in with their registered credentials once the results are announced. Follow the steps below to view the result:

You will be taken to the login page where you need to enter your registered email ID and password.
Submit the details to view your NID DAT Prelims 2026 result on the screen.
Download the result and keep a printed copy for future reference.

After accessing the result, candidates should verify the following information carefully:
Candidate’s name
Roll number
Total marks secured
Section-wise marks
Rank obtained
Qualifying status
Candidates who wish to make use of the rechecking process can refer to the guidelines mentioned below.
Rechecking requests can be submitted only through the official NID admissions portal and not through any other mode.
The rechecking process is restricted to confirming that all responses have been evaluated and that the marks have been correctly calculated and recorded.
This process does not involve re-evaluation or reassessment of answers.
Candidates are not allowed to inspect, access, or request copies of answer sheets, as these documents are kept confidential by the NID Admissions Cell.
If any discrepancy is found during rechecking, the marks will be updated accordingly.
Any revision in scores will be communicated exclusively via the candidate’s registered email ID.
The revised marks issued after rechecking will be treated as final, and no further claims will be accepted.
Requests submitted without a scanned copy of the admit card, duly signed by the invigilator and stamped by the test centre, will not be considered.
Applications for rechecking sent through email or offline modes will be rejected.
Detailed guidelines for submitting rechecking requests will be announced later on the official admissions website.
The fee for rechecking the DAT Prelims examination is Rs. 2,000.

NID will release the updated NID DAT tie-breaking criteria through the official website as part of the revised admission process. The tie-break rules are applied when two or more candidates secure identical scores in the NID DAT 2026 results.
Candidates can refer to the tie-breaking rules followed in he previous year, outlined below.
Preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in Part B of the DAT Prelims.
If the tie continues, marks secured in Part A of the DAT Prelims will be considered.
If the tie still remains unresolved, the candidates will be awarded the same rank.
Higher marks in DAT Prelims Part II / Part III will be given priority.
If the tie persists, marks obtained in DAT Prelims Part I will be considered next.
If the tie is still not resolved, the candidates will be assigned the same rank.

Yes, if you are in Class 12, you are eligible to sit for the NID DAT 2026 (BDes) exam. The National Institute of Design allows students who are in their final year of Class 12 or have already passed to apply.

Yes you are eligible to appear for NID DAT for the M.Des programme. Since you are in final make sure you will have completed your BA by the required deadline. Also go through the specific specializations you want to apply for, some may require certain specific backgrounds to be eligible
