The admission process involves a written test and interview for each of the streams. Students who want to get admission to the Industrial Design Centre have to meet the eligibility criteria of IIT Bombay MDes admission. The IIT Bombay MDes admission criteria include the academic qualification and the minimum percentage of marks that the candidate must obtain to get admission to the institute. IIT Bombay MDes application form will open tentatively in the second week of March 2027. Candidates who qualified in the CEED exam and satisfy the eligibility criteria need to fill the IIT Bombay MDes application form which will be made available at the official website - idc.iitb.ac.in, in online mode.
The steps to fill out the application form for IIT Bombay MDes admission are mentioned below.
Step 1: Registration
To register, candidates need to click on the ‘Register’ button and then select ‘New User Click here to register.’ They have to provide a valid email ID where they will receive a URL to activate their account. Candidates need to follow the URL and complete the registration process by filling in the required details.
Step 2: Fill in the Personal Details
In this part of the application form, candidates need to enter the following information.
Now, press the ‘Register’ button. A pop-up will show up asking you to confirm that you have noted your secret answer and date of birth. You will need this information to reset your password if you forget it. Click on the ‘OK’ button after noting it down. Another pop-up will appear asking you to click ‘OK’ to continue with the registration process.
Step 3: CEED exam details for MDes Admission
Candidates need to enter their CEED roll number and score for verification purposes.
Step 4: Upload the documents
Candidates need to upload the necessary documents as per the specified guidelines.
Step 5: Pay the application fees
Students have the option to pay the IIT Bombay MDes admission fees either online or offline through Debit Card/credit card/net banking or demand draft respectively.

IIT Bombay will publish the list of shortlisted candidates for DAT/ interview tentatively in April 2027. After the interviews, it will publish the list of selected candidates for IIT Bombay MDes admission online. Candidates can check the result through their login. The selected candidates will have to pay their MDes IIT Bombay fees within the specified time to confirm their MDes admission.

The candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PwD) or equivalent grades in the qualifying degree for individual streams.
