IIT Bombay M. Des Selection Process 2019

The selection process of IIT Bombay M.Des 2019 comprises preparation of category wise merit list of candidates based on the marks scored by them in CEED. The authorities will prepare a merit list for all the candidates who applied for will IIT Bombay M.Des admission 2019 for the interview and IDC-CEED 2019 entrance testInterview call list is prepared on the basis of category-wise seats available in each stream as well as multiplying factor for each category. The applicants whose names will be on the interview call list will have to appear in admission test and interview on the dates mentioned above in the table. Post written test and interview, a category wise final merit list using final scores will be prepared. The final scores would constitute 70% of CEED score, and 15% each of written test and interview marks. Admission would be offered to students from this list based on seats available for each category.


IIT Bombay M.Des Eligibility Criteria for 2019

The eligibility criteria of M.Des IIT Bombay 2019 comprises the academic qualification and the minimum percentage of marks which the candidate must score to be eligible to apply for admission.

Minimum percentage of marks - Candidates who are from the general category must have scored at least 55% marks while those who are from the general category must have scored at least 50% marks in the respective streams

Qualification in CEED 2019 - Candidates must ensure that they have qualified the Common
Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) for 2019.

Apart from the minimum percentage of marks scored by the candidates in the qualifying exam, candidates must possess the requisite degree against the streams that are listed below.

Bachelor of planning will be considered equivalent to bachelor of architecture. Four year B.Sc engineering course after HSC considered equivalent to BE/B.Tech.


BFA (Four year professional program with entry after 10+2)


GD Art (4 year programme after one year foundation. Candidate must be at least 10th pass).


Note: Bachelor of Planning is considered equivalent to Bachelor of Architecture.

Steps to Fill IIT Bombay M.Des Application Form 2019

Students can follow the given below steps to fill the application form of IIT Bombay M.Des with ease.

The IDC - CEED 2019 entrance test is a design aptitude test for different streams in which the candidate aspires to appear for the exam. The entrance exam will comprise material and studio test.

In the interview for IIT Bombay M.Des admission 2019, candidates will be assessed on the portfolio, academic background, stream specific design aptitude, and general as well as design-awareness.

IIT Bombay M.Des 2019 Exam Pattern- Marking Scheme

The final score of the entrance exam IIT Bombay M.Des 2019 admission will be calculated on the following basis:

Final score = CEED marks × (0.70) + (Written Test + Interview marks) × (0.30)

Yes,  you are eligible for CEED exam as to be eligible for CEED 2020 exam ,aspirants needs to have completed their degree / diploma / post graduate degree programme of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level) or must be appearing for the final examination of such a programme by July 2020, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2020. A candidate can appear in CEED any number of times as there is no age limit, The authorities released CEED 2020 Application form in online mode on October 9, 2019. hello aspirant,

you cannot apply in iit bombay, because they need minumum 4 years bachelors degree in engineering after 10+2 course. you may apply in iit kanpur or iisc bangalore, as they do not have any specific criteria. follow below link to get more updates

The application form for CEED 2020 october 9 to second week of November 2020 without payment for late fee. . The application procedure will be online where candidates will have to register first, followed by entering of personal and academic details, uploading of documents and finally making the payment.

Hello Sir, I am Loganathan, it took me an extra 6 months to clear my B.Tech because of my backlogs, and I also got a pretty low score of 56%. Will this be any kind of problem if I clear CEED with a good percentile to get admission in IITs?? Looking forward to your reply. Thank You.

hello aspirant,

its completely fine if you are preparing for ceed exam. however there is no percentile or age limit for ceed exam. but different institute has different graduation marks criteria for admission in m. design. like iit delhi needs atleast 60% marks in graduation , 55% for sc/st. so  if you are from general category you will not eligible to apply. as per your score you can apply in iit bombay, iit guwahati, iit hyderabad, iit kanpur, but you need to bring a really good score in ceed exam, unless as per your profile there is very little chances of selection.

Dear Sanjay, there is no upper age limit for appearing for CEED and there is no cap on no.of attempts at CEED. For being eligible, you should have completed your Graduation/Diploma/Post graduation either in  4 or 3+2 years format. Candidates in their final year are also eligible.
