The eligibility criteria of IIT Kanpur M.Des admission specifies the qualifying exam and minimum percentage they should score in the qualifying exam to be eligible to appear for the entrance test. Having valid GATE/CEED score is must for regular candidates to get admission to the M.Des programme. The GATE score is not required for candidates holding B. Tech degrees from IITs with a minimum CPI overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B.Tech. Candidates with B.Tech/B.E. degree in any branches of Engineering; B.Des and B.Arch with a valid GATE/CEED score are eligible to apply for the exam
Students in the final year of the qualifying degree may also apply, but they have to submit the proof of minimum qualification by last week of September in the year of admission.The admission of candidates would stand cancelled if the final examination is not over at the time of admission, or if the documents are not submitted.
There is no restriction on the age of the candidate or the number of attempts for CEED/GATE.
Candidates should have minimum of 55 percent marks /5.5 (on a 10 point scale) as long as it is not less than the minimum pass marks/CPI in their graduate degree.
Note - Candidates having degrees in Fine Arts or Interior Design are not eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
Candidates will be selected for IIT Kanpur M.Des Admission based on their CEED/GATE Scores. All shortlisted candidates will receive mails regarding their selection for IIT Kanpur M.Des admission test.

its completely fine if you are preparing for ceed exam. however there is no percentile or age limit for ceed exam. but different institute has different graduation marks criteria for admission in m. design. like iit delhi needs atleast 60% marks in graduation , 55% for sc/st. so if you are from general category you will not eligible to apply. as per your score you can apply in iit bombay, iit guwahati, iit hyderabad, iit kanpur, but you need to bring a really good score in ceed exam, unless as per your profile there is very little chances of selection.
Dear Sanjay, there is no upper age limit for appearing for CEED and there is no cap on no.of attempts at CEED. For being eligible, you should have completed your Graduation/Diploma/Post graduation either in 4 or 3+2 years format. Candidates in their final year are also eligible.
