UCEED Admit Card Date:08 Jan' 26 - 08 Jan' 26
Appearing for the UCEED entrance exam requires candidates to prepare for numerous subjects extensively. As a result, candidates need to be aware of how many marks are required in the UCEED exam to get into IIT after the Part A and Part B entrance examinations. In this case particularly, we will be verifying, is 75 a good score in UCEED for candidates to seek admissions at the IITs. Here you can see if a score of 75 in UCEED is enough to get into IIT.

Considering does MIT accept UCEED scores, will also give clarity on whether candidates can apply for institutions other than IITs as well. If not IIT, check out this article to know which design colleges accept a score of 75 in UCEED.
By measuring the UCEED Marks vs Rank 2026, we can estimate the range within which candidates can apply for institutions such as IIT or other participating universities. The comparison is done between what is a good score in UCEED 2026 and the expected rank range. Candidates can then compare the results with what is the expected cut off for UCEED in IITs and accordingly verify if they can get in with a score of 75 in UCEED.
UCEED Marks Range | Expected Rank Range for UCEED |
135+ | Top 10 |
125-135 | 10-50 |
115-125 | 50-150 |
100-115 | 150-400 |
90-100 | 400-800 |
80-90 | 800-1500 |
70-80 | 1500-3000 |
60-70 | 3000-5000 |
Below 60 | 5000+ |
Secondly, we need to consider the UCEED cut off marks which we can calculate using the formula for the UCEED Cutoff = μ+2σ.
OBC/EWS cutoff: 0.9*69.89 = 62.90
SC/ST/PwD cutoff: 0.5*69.89 =34.95
General Candidate Cutoff: 57.63 + (24.52/2) = 69.89
We can now take the UCEED 2025 cutoff for the open category and compare the two to verify whether candidates can qualify for selection to the IITs with 75 marks.
Institute | Opening Rank | Closing Rank |
1 | 14 | |
15 | 41 | |
19 | 96 | |
23 | 61 | |
67 | 119 | |
87 | 111 | |
93 | 267 |
Though the General candidate UCEED cut off is at 69.89 for the median score candidates will have to score at least above 100 to gain admission to IITDM Jabalpur which has the lowest closing rank in the list. The admission for candidates in the Open Category to other universities is also difficult.
The expected closing rank for Srishti Manipal Institute of Art Design and Technology, stands at 595-600 for B.Des. The UCEED general cutoff based on the closing rank suggests a score between 90-100.
Candidates aiming to apply for admission with a score of 75 need to apply to other institutes besides IITs that have a much lower closing rank, preferably in the range of 1500-3000. Candidates who are in the SC/ST or PwD candidates can probably seek BDes admission at participating universities due to their lower cutoff as we have calculated earlier.
There is also the possibility that the trends for the rank and marks cutoff can alter in the next UCEED exam, allowing candidates with a score of 75 to apply with the UCEED scores at IITs or Participating Institutes. It can also expect change based on the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates appearing, the reservation for categories and the tie-breaking process.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Candidates are advised to score more than 170 out of the total 300 points. This gives them the advantage of entering into a rank that can easily qualify for admission for general category.
No, it is not a good score. Based on the trends above, we can estimate that a UCEED score between 70-80 in the general category would leave candidates with ranks that are much lower than those accepted by IITs.
Moreover, based on the last year UCEED passing marks for part A, the UCEED 2026 cutoff as mean and standard deviation are expected to be 61.50 and 25.69, respectively.
Apart from the IITs, there are some other design colleges in India offering BDes admission through UCEED scores. BITS Pilani design school, FDDI, VIT Vellore are some of the well known institutes listed in UCEED colleges in India.
A good score for UCEED 2026 is generally considered to be between 115 and 125. However, it may vary from year to year based on the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates appearing, the reservation for categories, and the tie-breaking process.

You can access the free mock test series for the UCEED 2026 exam directly through the provided link. Taking mock tests is the single most critical step for UCEED preparation, as the exam is highly focused on aptitude, visualization, and analytical skills, rather than textbook knowledge. Consistent practice with these mock tests will help you: (1) Understand the Complex Pattern: Get familiar with the Part A (Aptitude) sections, including Numerical Answer Type (NAT) and Multiple Select Questions (MSQ). (2) Improve Speed and Time Management: UCEED is time-intensive, and mock tests help you learn to allocate time effectively between the diverse question types (Visualisation, Spatial Reasoning, Communication, etc.). (3) Practice Sketching (for Part B): While Part A is computerized, practicing the simulated Part B (Drawing/Sketching) challenges will sharpen your creative skills needed for a high score. Hello,
For admission to Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University (ADYPU), you must score a minimum of 50% in your 12th grade for the general category. However, ADYPU conducts its own entrance exam, known as the ACET ADYPU Common Entrance Exam, which includes a studio test and a personal interview. So, you would have a chance for admission based on how well you score in the entrance exam.
Hope it helps!!!
