A score of 115-125 is expected to be a good score for UCEED 2026, as it can secure a rank within the top 1000 candidates. However, a good score in UCEED 2026 will also depend on various factors, such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates appearing, the cut-off marks, and the rank list. However, this is only an estimate and the actual score and rank may vary depending on the performance of the candidates.
The UCEED cutoff is crucial for determining a good score in UCEED 2026. The cutoff for Part A is the minimum score that candidates need to be eligible for admission. IIT Bombay releases the cutoff for Part A on its official website.
To qualify for UCEED 2026, one will need to score above the minimum cutoff marks set by the exam authorities. The UCEED cutoff marks are calculated based on the average and standard deviation of the marks of all the candidates who appeared in Part-A of UCEED. The cutoff marks and the merit rank list of UCEED 2026 will be announced after the declaration of the results. In addition to knowing a good score for UCEED 2026, candidates should know about the UCEED minimum qualifying score, which is provided in the table below.
The minimum qualifying score is the UCEED 2026 cutoff score required by the candidates to be considered for the design admission. The expected score required by the different category candidates to qualify for UCEED 2026 is given below:
Merit List | Minimum percentage of marks in each section in Part A and Part B | Minimum overall marks |
Common Rank List (CRL) | 10% | 100 |
OBC - Non-creamy layer rank list | 9% | 90 |
SC - Rank list | 5% | 50 |
ST - Rank list | 5% | 50 |
PwD - Rank list | 5% | 50 |
The UCEED 2026 cutoff is the minimum score required to qualify for the B.Des admission process. It is calculated using the marks obtained by the candidates in Part A of the exam. The cutoff formula for the OPEN category is as follows:
Cutoff=μ+2σ
where μ and σ are the mean and standard deviation of the marks distribution of all the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2026. The cutoff, μ, and σ will be rounded to two decimal places. The reserved categories will have a lower cutoff, which is expected to be 0.9 times the OPEN cutoff for OBC-NCL/EWS, and 0.5 times the OPEN cutoff for SC/ST/PwD.
UCEED 2026 cutoff mark is the minimum score required for admission to B.Des courses in IITs and other UCEED participating colleges. The UCEED cutoff mark varies for different categories and sections of the exam. The UCEED Cutoff 2026 will be announced along with the UCEED rank list 2026, which will show the ranks of the candidates based on their scores. The UCEED cutoff marks vary every year depending on the difficulty level and the number of applicants for the exam. To know a good score in UCEED for IIT, the candidates will have to refer to the previous year's UCEED cutoff marks for IITs given below as a reference.

Candidates can make use of the following tips to achieve a good score in UCEED 2026.
Know the UCEED syllabus 2026 and exam pattern 2026: The UCEED syllabus covers various topics related to design, such as visualisation, observation, reasoning, creativity, and language. The exam pattern consists of two parts: Part A (online) and Part B (offline). Part A has three types of questions: Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Part B has one question that requires drawing a solution to a given design problem.
Practise important topics such as mathematical geometry, abstract tests, English comprehension, reasoning questions, general knowledge, and environmental studies. These topics are essential for UCEED and require regular practice to improve your speed and accuracy.
Solve the previous year’s question papers and sample papers. This will help you to get familiar with the type and level of questions asked in UCEED. Candidates can also check their performance and identify their strengths and weaknesses. Candidates can download the UCEED question/sample papers from the official website of UCEED or from the links given below.
Choose the best books for UCEED preparation. Some of the recommended books are:
NID/NIFT/CEED/CEED Workbook by R.S. Aggarwal
UCEED (B.Des) Entrance Books and Test Series by AFAINDIA
UCEED Design Environment & Social Awareness In Design Perspective Combined With Mental & Verbal Aptitude by Srijan Shilpa
Cracking CEED and UCEED with 10 Mock Tests by Ashok Goel and Arjun Kamal
Make a monthly, weekly, and daily timetable. A well-planned study schedule will help you to cover the entire syllabus and revise it effectively. You should allocate sufficient time for each topic and section, and also for mock tests and revision. You should also take breaks and relax your mind and body.
Consider these last-minute tips:
Review the important topics and formulas.
Avoid studying new topics at the last moment.
Take mock tests and analyse your mistakes and time management.
Keep your admit card, identity proof, and stationery ready for the exam day.
Read and follow the instructions carefully during the exam.
Attempt the easy questions first and then the difficult ones.
Do not waste time on any question and do not guess blindly.
Check your answers before submitting them.
The UCEED rank list 2026 is based on the total marks scored in Part A and Part B of the exam. However, the UCEED rank also depends on other factors such as the exam difficulty, the number of applicants, the category-wise reservation, and the tie-breaking policy. Therefore, a good score cannot be determined solely by marks, and the UCEED rank cannot be predicted accurately from the marks alone. This is why candidates need to check the UCEED marks vs rank 2026 cutoff for different colleges and categories to know their admission chances and determine what would constitute a good score for them. By analysing the trends of UCEED marks vs rank from previous years, candidates can gain insights into the potential rank range they might fall into.
