Every year the IIT Hyderabad B.Des admission takes place through the UCEED exam. Interested students should register for the UCEED entrance exam through the official website - uceed.iitb.ac.in. The students must check the UCEED eligibility criteria before filling the form. The students need to fill in the UCEED application form with correct information and upload the required documents. The next step is to proceed for the UCEED exam fee payment online and confirm the examination details. The student must have passed 10+2 or equivalent before taking admissions into the college. The students can be from ant stream- Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities.
Candidates must have scored more than the IIT Hyderabad B.Des cut off in the UCEED exam.
Usually, 5 rounds of UCEED seat allocation are conducted for the students who appeared and qualified in the entrance exam. This is subject to the availability of the seats after each subsequent round. The seats will be allotted to the students based on their all-India rank, category and choices filled in UCEED counselling registration. The process of UCEED admission will begin with the students being allotted various seats. If the applicant is given the first choice of the institution here, she can either accept or decline it. If the student chooses to decline it they cannot participate in the subsequent rounds and also the seat offered will be cancelled.
If the applicant is allotted the second, third, fourth or fifth choice of Institution, he or she can either freeze or float it. If the student chooses the freeze option, then they have accepted the seat and if they have chosen the float option, they can indicate that they are ready to move to the higher preference if offered. The student choosing the freeze option will not be able to participate in the subsequent UCEED counselling. Those who have chosen the flow to option will be allotted a seat in the Institution of fire preference automatically. In this situations to get IIT Hyderabad B.Des admissions the students need to score above the cutoff rank in order to be selected. Once the students are granted admission into IIT Hyderabad, they must make payment as a seat acceptance fee of Rs.60,000.

Product Design: Product design helps the designers to create new products or improve existing products to meet user needs and make it more user friendly.
Visual Communication: Visual communication uses of images to convey messages, ideas, or information. This includes graphic design, typography, illustration, and digital media.
Interaction Design: This is about creating engaging interfaces and user experiences for digital products such as applications or websites to ensure that users can use these products efficiently as well as having fun while they do so.
IIT Hyderabad offers job opportunities to students from different fields such as education, manufacturing, and startups. The IIT Hyderabad B.Des placement procedure begins from July and lasts till April in which the students are given an opportunity to shape their career. Various pre-placement talks and screening tests are arranged for the students by the Office of Career Service.
The IIT Hyderabad BDes placement has two phases. The details are given below:
From July onwards IIT Hyderabad invites the various companies for placements. In between July to November the employer fills the registration forms and IIT Hyderabad offers various pre-placement talks and online tests to the students to help them.
The first phase of placement takes place in December and January, which is highly competitive.
The second phase of placements will be in between January to April and the students have various specific fields to choose from.
For the year 2022-2023 the IIT Hyderabad B.Des placement percentage was 55.56%. A total of 82.46% of students registered for the placements. The IIT Hyderabad B.Des average package was reported to be Rs.14.40 Lakhs per annum.

UCEED is a competitive exam for design aspirants, testing design aptitude, logical thinking, creativity, and visualisation skills. To improve your score out of 300, start by understanding the exam pattern—Part A (objective) and Part B (subjective). For Part A, practice reasoning, numerical aptitude, and environmental & social awareness questions. For Part B, focus on drawing, sketching, and presenting your ideas clearly. Solve past year UCEED papers and join online mock test series. Spend at least 2–3 hours daily practising creative problem-solving and sketching. Also, work on time management because the exam requires quick thinking.

For NID DAT 2026, your eligibility is established based on your born date as you are born on or after July 1st 2005. For UCEED 2026, your eligibility is dependent on your born date by category. You are eligible if you are OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 2001. If you are SC/ST/PwD category you must be born on or after October 1, 1996 in order to be eligible. Based on your born date of December 20th, 2006 for both NID DAT 2026 and UCEED 2026; you will be eligible.
