IIT Roorkee MDes Admission Criteria 2026

The authorities has released the IIT Roorkee MDes eligibility criteria for 2026 admission along with the official brochure. The applicants can check the IIT Roorkee MDes eligibility as below.

Minimum Educational Qualification Required for IIT Roorkee MDes Admission

• Candidates must have completed a four-year graduate degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 with valid CEED score.
• Final-year students of relevant undergraduate programs who have completed the requirements of qualifying examination can also apply.

IIT Roorkee MDes Registration 2026

The IIT Roorkee MDes application is open from March 11 to April 4, 2026. To obtain MDes admission at IIT Roorkee, candidates are required to register themselves before the last date.

Documents to keep ready for IIT Roorkee Registration

• Recent Photograph (scanned)
• Candidate’s Signature (scanned)
• Valid CEED Score card
• 10th Certificate/Mark sheet
• 12th/Diploma Certificate/Mark sheets
• Bachelor’s Degree and all mark sheets or consolidated mark sheet (Candidates appearing in the qualifying degree examination can upload the mark sheet up to pre-final semester/year).
• Certificates in respect of work experience, if applicable.
• SC/ST/OBC/GEN-EWS/PwD Certificate, as applicable. (Candidates belonging to OBC & Gen-EWS category must upload the valid category certificate as per GOI issued after March 31, 2024).
• Sponsorship & No Objection Certificate (Applicable for Sponsored candidates only).
• Certificate of first rank/Gold medal issued by the Institute/University (Applicable only for Golden Girl Scheme for Females).

Steps to fill IIT Roorkee MDes Application Form 2026

• Visit the official website link - iitr.ac.in/academics/admission
• Click on "Apply online"
• Click on “Register New Account” if applying for the first time or “Sign in” if already registered.
• Complete the form filling process by submitting details such as name, gender, course, CEED scores and more.
• Next, pay a non-refundable IIT Roorkee MDes registration fee in online mode using the option “Proceed for Payment”.
• Download Application Form (Save the pdf copy of the application form and take a print out of the entire file. This printout is NOT to be sent to IIT Roorkee. It is only for candidate’s own record purpose)
• Application sequence number generated on downloaded application form will be used in all correspondence in future.

IIT Roorkee MDes 2026 Registration Fee

Candidates have to pay the registration fee in online mode only and the fee is non-refundable.

IIT Roorkee MDes Aptitude Test 2026

From the list of all registered candidates, a certain number of candidates shall be called for Aptitude Test (AT) and Personal Interview (PI). Invitation letters shall be sent to the shortlisted candidates for AT and PI through email. The IIT Roorkee MDes aptitude test and interview will be conducted in the second week of May 2026.

IIT Roorkee MDes Admission: Selection Process

IIT Rookee will publish the list of shortlisted candidates based on CEED 2026 scores in the third week of April 2026. Such candidates must attend the aptitude test and the interview. The IIT Roorkee MDes 2026 admission result will be published in the first week of June 2026.

The shortlisted candidates will receive the provisional admission offer letter to the registered email (as given in the application form). All shortlisted candidates will have to deposit full fee latest by the date specified in the provisional admission offer letter, failing which their candidature for admission may stand cancelled. The selected candidates will have to register physically as per the schedule that will be released.
