NIFT placements helps the students to achieve their dreams by turning their knowledge and training they got in the degree into professional use. The NIFT placements are centralised, and the companies can recruit the students from any campus. Placement in NIFT is done through three methods that have been listed below.
In the on-campus placements the companies visit the NIFT campuses. The final year students across all campuses are eligible for this type of placement in NIFT. There are scheduled dates when the companies visit the campus and they can access the interested students. The companies can take interviews or tests or simply choose the candidates from their portfolio or merit.
In this type of placement in NIFT, the students are offered pre-placement offers before the companies visit the campus for on campus placements. This offer can be considered as a job offer. These offers are usually based on the internships/ training/ projects that the companies have offered the students. The companies need to inform the NIFT authorities about such offers that are made to the students through the moderated Industry Mentor Feedback Form provided by the institute. This is necessarily done to ensure that the students who have received a PPO do not participate in the further placements process anymore. This in turn ensures that a fair opportunity is provided to the students.
NIFT after finishing the on-campus placements offers off campus placements for the students to facilitate job opportunities. In the off campus drive the companies which could not participate in campus placements can take part and raise requirements through the Industry & Alumni Affairs (I&AA) unit.
