NIFT Mumbai admission process includes the students to fulfill the eligibility criteria provided by the institution. These NIFT eligibility criteria are different for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The detailed NIFT Mumbai course admission eligibility is given below.
In undergraduate the institution provides two courses which are B.Des and B.F.Tech.
For both the courses the students need to be under the age of 24 on 1st August of the year of admission.
The students also need a minimum educational qualification of 10 + 2 or equivalent from any recognised Institute.
For the B.F.Tech course the students need to have Maths physics and chemistry as a compulsory subject in 12th. There is no stream restriction for the BDes course.
At postgraduate level the students are provided with three courses which are M.Des, M.F.Tech and M.F.M.
For all the three courses there are no age limit.
The students must have completed a graduation degree or a minimum diploma of 3 years from NIFT or NID to be eligible for the post graduate course.

NTA releases the NIFT application forms for admission to NIFT campuses in early December every year. The students must fulfil the eligibility criteria before applying to NIFT Mumbai. The NIFT Mumbai counselling process will begin after the NIFT results are declared. The students needed to register themselves as per the schedule to participate in the NIFT counselling. The students who are qualified as per the eligibility criteria need to register themselves online. The students need to follow these steps in order to complete the online registration process for e-counselling:
The candidates need to enter their roll number, application number, name, mother's name, Date of birth which needs to be authenticated. If it is authenticated successfully, the candidates will need to create a password to complete the registration process.
Once the password is generated the candidates will need to login again using the roll number and password and they will be redirected to fill up the remaining application form.
The candidates need to submit the registration form after filling up information regarding date of birth, father's name etc. the students will need to also provide details such as qualifications and contact information.
Students will have to upload the document which is shown on their candidate's credentials.
The candidates may or may not verify their email address and mobile number. The candidates can do so by clicking the link available on their home page and providing the OTP.
The candidates who have registered, uploaded the documents and have paid the registration fee will need to verify the documents online. The online document verification will be carried out by the reporting NIFT campus within its scheduled date. The candidates who are found to have discrepancies in the document verification will need to resubmit the document to complete the verification process.
The students need to choose their campus and program in order of preference after the documents are verified. Choice locking facilities will be available for the students as per the schedule. Candidate's choice must be locked only after they have finalised it. The candidates can take a printout of the lock choices and keep it with them for further reference. During this process, candidates will have to selest NIFT Mumbai as their preferred NIFT campus.
The seat allocation process will be carried out as per the rules given below. In each round the seat allotment result will be published on the website and the candidates who have qualified will need to download the professional allotment letter. The candidates who have been offered a seat will need to submit their willingness. They can either choose to freeze, slide or float as per their choice. By choosing the freeze option the candidates show the willingness to accept the offered program and campus allotted to them. If the candidates choose a floating option they may be considered for the higher preference of all campuses and programs in the next round of allotment. If the candidates choose a sliding option it means that they will be preferred only for the higher options available in the same campus in the next round of allotment. In case the candidates choose to keep the seat they need to confirm by paying the required fee within a time frame. Further these candidates will be required to report in the campus on the scheduled dates.The students who will be allotted seats need to pay the acceptance fee of NIFT Mumbai admissions before the deadline.

The nationwide Institute of Fashion Technology offers a nationwide entrance exam called NIFT for admission to its fashion design programmes.
Every course has specific requirements that must be met in order to apply. For NIFT, there is no minimum age requirement, however it is evident that passing the 10+2 exam is a requirement in order to be admitted to any undergraduate programme in fashion design.
You cannot be admitted because you are in class eleven. However, you can apply to NIFT for experience and practice, and if your application is accepted, you can take the entrance exam. If you pass, however, be aware that you will not be able to retain your results for admission.

NIFT 2023 ELIGIBILITY - B.DES admission
1. Aspiring students must have completed a 10+2 board exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi or,
2. Any Board/Public School/University Examination conducted in India or abroad which is equivalent to the 10+2 system and is accorded by the Association of Indian Universities or,
3. If candidates complete the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Sri Lanka/ Cambridge/) at the Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB) then, they are eligible to apply or,
4. Students will also be eligible if they have passed the 10+2 examination conducted by the National Open School with at least five subjects or,
5. Diploma of 3 or 4 years which is recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.
Age limit - Candidates must be of 23 years of age as of August 1, 2022. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) get a relaxation of 5 years

In 2022 NIFT Entrance Examination was conducted in 32 cities. The candidates have to select the preference of the examination cities while filling the application form. Based on the availability, preferences of the examination cities you will be allotted an examination center. You have to appear for NIFT Entrance Examination in the allotted examination center as per the given schedule. You can select any city where examination is conducted while filling your preferences, make sure that you select the cities such that you can commute on the day of examination easily.
