    Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, conducts the Common Entrance Exam for Design for admission into PG design programmes of participating institutes. The CEED 2026 result has been declared on March 4, 2026. Candidates with a valid score in CEED 2026 will be able to apply for IIT M.Des admissions. Past trends in CEED cut-off show that a good score in CEED 2026 for Part A is mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2026) are 39.35 and 16.89, respectively.. Only those candidates who qualify in Part A will be evaluated for Part B.     Candidates must also note that a good score in CEED alone may not be enough. Other than the CEED exam, the IITs also conduct a written test and interview. The CEED score carries around 70% weightage in the final selection. The admission into M.Des at IIT will be done based on the consolidated performance in CEED, the written test, and the interview. Since, there is no centralised counselling, each IIT will conduct the M.Des admission separately.

    Expected Cut-Off Marks for CEED 2026

    Candidates need to achieve a score above the minimum cutoff marks in Part A of CEED 2026 to be evaluated for Part B. It must be noted that since Part A is an objective paper, it will have a model solution to the question. However, since Part B is subjective, it will not have a model solution.

    The CEED cut-off marks is calculated as per the following formula

    μ + (σ/ 2 ) = δ, where μ is the average marks, σ is the standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all the candidates, and δ is the cut-off marks. As per the CEED 2025 cut-off, the mean and standard deviation for Part-A were 45.48 and 16.98, respectively.

    For OBC and EWS candidates, the cut-off is relaxed to 0.9δ, and for SC/ST/PwD candidates, the cut-off is relaxed to 0.5δ
