Candidates must also note that a good score in CEED alone may not be enough. Other than the CEED exam, the IITs also conduct a written test and interview. The CEED score carries around 70% weightage in the final selection. The admission into M.Des at IIT will be done based on the consolidated performance in CEED, the written test, and the interview.

What is a Good Score for CEED 2026?

CEED 2026 is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay and is divided into two parts: Part A, which is computer-based, and Part B, which is pen-and-paper-based. The exam is scored out of 250 points, with 150 marks for Part A and 100 marks for Part B. To understand what constitutes a good score for CEED, it's useful to review the CEED cutoff for IIT from previous years and the scores of students who will be admitted to top IITs. This can provide a range of successful scores from the past and help to understand the range needed for a strong performance.

A score of 50 or more in part A is expected to be a good score for CEED 2026. However, this is just an estimate, and the actual score needed for a particular rank can vary based on that year's exam difficulty and overall candidate performance. To determine what a good score for CEED 2026 is, candidates must look at the previous year's trends and cutoff scores for various institutions. Keeping up with updates from the exam authorities and practising thoroughly can also help to achieve a good score.

Hello sir,

Thanks for reaching out!

Yes, you still have a good chance even with a mid CEED score, if the rest of your profile is strong. While the CEED score is important, most of the institutes use full selection process that includes your CEED score(Part A and B), Portfolio and often an interview or studio tests.Your 6 years of experience, strong portfolio and relevant coursera certificates can add significant value during admission in IITDM, Srishti etc which consider the overall profile not just the rank.
