However, a good score in CEED can vary depending on factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of applicants, and the number of available seats. Candidates must also note that a good score in CEED alone may not be enough. Other than the CEED exam, the IITs also conduct a written test and interview. The CEED score carries around 70% weightage in the final selection. Admission into M.Des at IIT will be done based on the consolidated performance in CEED, the written test, and the interview. Since there is no centralised counselling, each IIT will conduct the M.Des admission separately.
CEED 2027 is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay and is divided into two parts: Part A, which is computer-based, and Part B, which is pen-and-paper-based. As per last year's exam pattern, the CEED exam is scored out of 250 marks, with 150 marks for Part A and 100 marks for Part B. To understand what constitutes a good score for CEED, it's useful to review the CEED cutoff for IIT from previous years and the scores of students who will be admitted to top IITs. This can provide a range of successful scores from the past and help to understand the range needed for a strong performance.

The CEED cut-off marks is calculated as per the following formula
μ + (σ/ 2 ) = δ, where μ is the average marks, σ is the standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all the candidates, and δ is the cut-off marks. As per the CEED 2026 cut-off, the mean and standard deviation for Part-A were 39.35 and 16.89, respectively. An expected good score in CEED 2027 based on the above can be calculated as follows:
