The National Institute of Design conducts the NID DAT exam every year for students who want to take part in the design admission process. Aspirants may have doubts about how many times they can attempt the NID exam in a year. The NID entrance exam is conducted only once a year. Interested candidates must note that they are allowed to appear for the NID entrance exam only once every year, if they successfully fill up the NID application form before the due date. NID DAT 2026 will have two components - NID DAT prelims and NID DAT mains. Candidates who qualify in the NID DAT prelims will be able to appear for the NID DAT mains. The students can appear for the NID entrance exam as many times as they want till they fulfill the NID eligibility criteria. The candidates must note that the students have a certain age limit to join the undergraduate level courses. The age limit for NID 2026 exam is mentioned below.
For general category candidates the aspirants who were born only on or after July 1, 2005, were eligible.
For OBC NCL, SC, ST students must be born after July 1, 2002, to apply for the NID entrance exam.
For PWD candidates they must be born after July 1, 2000, to be eligible for NID entrance exam.

As 563 rank in nid dat exam cannot guarantee admission in designing college but it could be a good chance to explore some campus as if you are not from general category as category role plays an important role . But now you can do one thing focus on your strengthening your protofile or preparing for the studio test (bdes) or interview (mdes).

No, IPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) does not accept NID DAT Prelims score for admission to the B.Des (Bachelor of Design) program.
Instead, IPU conducts its own entrance test or may consider CUET (UG) scores for B.Des admissions, depending on the latest admission guidelines. Always refer to the university's official prospectus for the year you're applying to for the final admission criteria.
